NAMM Guitars?

Hey folks,
Is there any special deal with "NAMM guitars"? Are they special guitars made just for the show, the "best of the best" etc? Is there any added value to them due to being a NAMM guitar? I was just curious as to whether it made a difference down the road.

Some of them are one of a kind, and since it's a showcase I suppose they put all their pride and special effort into those models which are going to NAMM. I assume they might hold special value in the future to collectors.

On a side note, what happened to the much revered King V with the "bad dream" dragon graphic?
