i know nothing about GMW and was wondering if anyone here can help me out with this before i contact the source. i try to get the information before going blindly, ya' know? so... if i were to have a black RR1 with red bevels. assuming that's a possible regular option, how much approx would it cost for custom inlays, painting of the logo and painting of the binding? not something erratic, the inlays would be dice. and the logo would be a regular red.

the best thing to do would be to call lee at gmw, he is very nice and will talk with you without giving you the impression he's in a rush, the inlay i think will be the most, the headstock if i remember right is about $50 or in that range, but the work will be top notch

Just so you know, GMW won't build you a Rhoads body guitar with a Jackson headstock. If you want that, you would have to order it through the Jackson Custom Shop.

            Re: GMW

People that I HAVE built guitars for SEEM to be VERY FOND of them - but LEE ??...and the PROS FROM DOVER at GMW ???...They have FORGOTTEN MORE about lutherie that I will EVER KNOW !!!!...

I CURRENTLY own TWO GMW's, and I am ordering ANOTHER at the NAMM Show in two weeks...

IMHO, for a guy that BUILDS GUITARS - STEM to STERN...to PAY SOMEONE ELSE for THEIR WORK...says a WHOLE LOT about GMWs QUALITY !!!

            It is UNRIVALED !!!!!

                        Re: GMW

Unless something has changed since the last time I spoke with Lee, he won't be exhibiting at the upcoming NAMM show, but he has another group of Empire guitars built that should be available for delivery by the show. One was a neck-through with a Pau Ferro neck and center, with alder sides (I think), spalted maple top and Brazilian rosewood fingerboard. If I'd had the dough, I'd have bought it on the spot, even in it's unfinished state. And those photos were from the last NAMM show...I saw several of those guitars on the countertop at GMW awaiting assembly, just before the show. That blue quilted maple top was absolutely fabulous. It was sold before the show, so Lee wouldn't let anyone touch it even though everyone wanted to grab it!

GMW's cool, just don't be in a hurry if you need your axe quickly...tick tock, tick tock Lee if you're out there...
