There's generally a reasonable perspective on it over there though. Only one or two questioning the merits of having Jenna pimp Jacksons. Like someone there said, it's only rock'n'roll.

I liked the suggestion that Jackson is Daffy Duck to Fender's Mickey Mouse. If you're expected to appear respectable and upstanding and responsible to your audience and it would be inappropriate to behave otherwise lest you risk your reputation & potential sales, then introduce a character that IS allowed to be uncompromising and cuss and kick over the furniture without fear of reprisal & a damn-the-consequences attitude.

I remember the fuss around here when Fender took over, the widespread sky-is-falling panic that Soloists would soon start wearing pickguards loaded with Lace Sensors. A few here were aware enough to recognise that Fender is smarter than that. Buying Jackson to dismantle it isn't eradicating a rival to Fender's market share. It's just resulting in one less competitor in the "metal" guitar market, a market Fender hasn't been successfully able to crack under it's own marque.

That was a set neck. He attached a Epiphone neck to a central strip of body wood. I am not sure who made the very first. Fender made an early variant as the first fretted electric (non-steel guitar) Leo built to rent to musicians was essentially a steel guitar with a fretboard and frets. Bigsby made some guitars too around the same time in the 40's. Rickenbacker and Gibson had neckthrough models that go back a ways. The Gibson Firebird was a popular model that was neck through.

while i can agree that the guitars are great lookin on their own, the general guitar buying population wouldn't agree, and the sales in comparison to esp, etc, reflect that.

Say that it is funny that Fender or Jackson did not even come up with the idea to Use Jenna in adds.

The person who did was applying for a Job there and made a comment about using her and they ran with it, needless to say the person did not get the job or credit.
