Jenna is fairly mainstream. There was one of those short biography shows about here on E! not too long ago.

Correction: I meant to say about "her", not about "here.

Hopefully this post will be RacerX to the punch.

English is my second language. I did not begin studying English until I was fifteen. A few things about this language will never sink in to my head, unfortunately.

Ibanez try to cater for a wider range of musicians with metal and jazz sig models. But they still provide genre-specific instruments. Of course, nothing's stopping someone playing bluegrass on a "metal" axe, or from banging heads with a Pat Metheny sig jazzbox if that's what they want. But they still market certain models to particular markets.

re: the bikini chick on the Mothership's website. As some have already mentioned here, most people have no idea WHO the model posing with the Rhoads on Jackson's site is, anymore than they can tell you who the bikini models in the Dean ads are, or all of the models on the couple of "chicks with guitars" websites folks here were sharing a couple of weeks ago. Jenna may be the biggest pornstar on the planet, but to most of the general public, in her capacity as "bikini model with Jackson Rhoads", that's all she is. A model.

Damn! Just missed out on this one
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">True, but how many of those girls have millions of guys with clips of them on thier hard drives, taking shots to the face like Jenna?

I was just kidding as well. The "English is my second language" excuse is something we use at work when a corporate bean counter is raising hell about a report that is past due.

One day I'm going to push you over the edge and do a whole series of posts with blatant usage errors just to push you over the edge.

I'm sure something like that would have a very negative affect on you due to the fact that you seem obsessed with usage and grammar.

I'll have to lie down my guitar for a few hours and think of the best way to do something like that.

                  Have a very negative effect!

But you could've said "would affect very negatively", and been correct!

The word "affect" is a verb, wheras the word "effect" is a noun.

Re: It seems not everyone is happy with Jenna Jameson in the Jackson ads...

Screw any Fender-wannabes who whine about the Jenna ads. Dean Guitars proved how sexually oriented ads in the 80's worked very, very well at selling guitars. The more controversy those ads created, the more guitars Dean sold.

From an interview with Dean Zelinsky in 1981, Dean was 24 yrs old:

Interviewer: You have been accused of being sexist in your advertising lately. What's your reaction to that?

Dean Zelinsky: I think it's great! It's funny because those that are really offended by it are giving me a lot of popularity. For example, we ran an ad in Guitar Player initially. Jim Crockett, the publisher of Guitar Player, did his article on the "Feel the Difference" ad(blonde in bikini holding Flying V) which resulted in a number of letters. Guitar World also picked up on the controversey and published some letters. In adition, after reading some of the letters, and the fact that the girl in the ad was a Playboy Cover Girl, Playboy Magazine took issue on the controversey and is running a story on the Dean Controversey and that's to 20 Million readers.

With one ad, I managed to get in the editorial section of Guitar Player and Guitar World for seven straight months, and now in Playboy. That isn't bad!

Interviewer: How long do you feel you'll be able to advertise like this?

Dean Zelinsky: Until people get tired of looking at good looking girls.

Next time get Jenna in the buff or at least topless. F 'em if they don't like it.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">As someone who has worked a lot of their shows and played for a couple of them, I've met alot of their managers, and you are correct. They find alot of ways to get just a bit more than their cut. It's no different than bad management in music, where the guy takes advantage of a band to make just that little extra he THINKS he's worth. But with porn stars, it's a little easier because alot of them rely solely on management to do the talking. Jenna's a little different because she's primarily very business-oriented. She looks at her numbers...lol But anyway, your comment was very accurate. Sorry to go off topic guys...

Maybe Jackson should use Tera Patrick for the import models and Jenna for the USA models?¿?
