  • San Dimas Factory?

    Hey guys,

I'll planning a business trip to Davis, Ca in March and thought it would be fun to tour the Jackson/Charvel/Fender(?) factory in San Dimas. From my internet search I see that San Dimas is in LA County, a long way from Davis, but I can't find a listing or a web site for the actual factory.

Any suggestions? Is San Dimas just the name they tagged to the guitar? Thanks.

Fender is located in Corona. They currently do not have factory tours. People do get tours of the place, but because they know someone who works there that gets them in.

I live by Davis - The factory is about 6 hour drive South from here. Jackson/Charvel is located in Corona, CA.

        Cheers

Don't feel bad bro, I've been wanting to visit the Ft. Worth, TX plant for years but I can never find it!

Actually, I've made a pilgrimage to the original San Dimas location. It was at night though -- I'd like to do a little JCF get-together there sometime, maybe during business hours. I wasn't able to find out what kind of business is in there now....

There is, of course, a thread on that visit that contains the original address. Try the search function and use my number, 103.

The original shop was technically in Glendora, the San Dimas was the PO box for mail.

and we all know it would be next to impossible to build guitars in a PO box.

Yes, Joe, it is in Glendora, although it's very close to the San Dimas border!

What I love is when people bring that up as an argument point.

"Yeah, well, they weren't really made in San Dimas! They were made a quarter mile over the border, in Glendora!"
"Dude, what the fuck are you talking about? Just play skeeball and shut up. Psycho."
