Guitar database

Does anyone know if Jackson keeps a database of all guitars made for a particular year. If not, does Fender do something of the sort???

I know that that by serial # you can guess how many were guitars were made in a certain year, but is there anyway of tell this by model. My reason for asking is that many times I see listing that say "rare" or "limited production" and I guess having a database that said
Dk2 - HRF 3,400
Dk2 - TRNR 10

I would be able to tell that the HRF is really not that rare.
