Re: STOLEN GUITAR!

Oh, Jim...

Yes, it was pretty heavy for an axe of its class.

The neck was pretty dirty on the back too. EVen after hours of polishing it down.

I did not have the neckplate with it, as far as I remember, its still sitting in a closet in MO.

Oh, and details..

Had a nice chip or two in the neck pocket, and one near the strap lock-by the bridge, on more of the backside.

Mine was a Soloist, neck through with body/headstock binding, and no reverse headstock. I sold it last November.

Wow that's the same graphic I have on mine. But mines dark blue instead of re and is only a single hum. But the rest is identical. Although my JT6 is still intact. Hope you find it or can arrange to get this one.

I saw a Dinky Reverse with this finish about a YEAR or so ago - at a pawn shop my guitar teacher was doing some tech work for - It's located in Longmont, Colorado - and it's called "Mister Pawn Shop" or "The Mister Pawn Shop" and it's at 325 Main Street, Longmont, CO 80501 - The phone # is (303) 772-5751 - I'll BET they STILL have record of that SERIAL NUMBER...

Hey, Ron - AREN'T YOU gonna say that I MIGHT HAVE the guitar in question - 'cuz I wouldn't make a HOUSE CALL to do FREE SETUPS for ya ???

...just KIDDING ya ANIMAL !!!

...but I AM THINKING that by COLORADO LAW, that they HAVE to keep those records for THREE YEARS or so...

...and the REASON I EVEN MENTION the guitar, is that it was the FIRST ONE that I EVER SAW with RED Lightning Sky graphics - in person...

Slightly off-topic Gwarghoul, but why did y'all lose touch? Do you still live in the same place/have the same contact info you had before this person moved?

The reason I ask this is because I'm in possession of a 1976 P-Bass, that belonged to my old band's drummer. I'm a guitarist that was playing bass in that band, so he let me borrow it. He moved right after the band broke up, and I attempted to contact him (by phone, email, and IM {didn't have his address}), but he never responded to any of it. I guess what I'm asking is...How long do you wait? I mean, I'd like to return it, but he wouldn't give me the courtesy of a reply, which is funny when the person who's contacting you has your semi-vintage instrument. Does this make me the bad guy? Did I "steal" it?

I'm still fuzzy on the neckplate not being with the neck and body

The numbers on the neck heel and body might match each other, but I seriously doubt they'll match the neckplate.
Your case of claiming ownership will go a helluva lot farther if you can provide the neck heel/pocket numbers to the current owner.

Sinistas,

Nope..many states away, have no idea where he is, or how t get ahold of him. Thanks for the thought tho, glad yer hangin nt that guitar.

Newc, I don't remember much abut the neckpocket, its been a long time. 2 years I think.
I bought it in FL, from The Guitar Exchange in Coral Springs.

If I remember correctly, its said "hernandez" in the neck pocket, dunno tho. I'm not looking to CLaim ownership...I'm sure whoever owns it is happy, and its pretty much rightfully theirs, because they honestly bought it.

I am however tryign to locate it (or a similar one), and buy it back.

Re: STOLEN GUITAR!

This one had a neckplate, but it could have been added. I am trying to track down who has it. The same guy I sold it to bought another guitar from me on eBay a few months ago. He mentioned he still had this guitar. Unfortunately, the last guitar I sold him is no longer viewable as eBay deleted it just recently (it just turned 90 days). I will find who it is, email them and tell them the scoop. Email me and give me your email and I will give them your email address and leave it up to them to contact you. You described all of the major dings, etc. I bet this was your guitar.

Looking at the date you registered to this board shows you just missed buying this guitar back yourself. I am pretty sure I bought it in January 2003.
