It loofs dazzling, but does it rust easily? What can I do to prevent it from rusting? Apllying oil everyday?

It doesn't rust, but it can get tarnished over time, especially if you have acidic sweat. Just lightly wipe down your guitar after playing with a soft cloth, old T-shirt. Don't really rub it hard, because that can also cause it to fade, too. It just seems that's the nature of gold hardware.
My Carvin SC90's TOM bridge had a tiny bit of discoloration on it from where my palm rests, it's starting to look a little silver in a tiny spot. I'll just live with it, or I can always get new hardware later on if it gets real bad. Not a big deal to me, though.

I want to extend the question to frets. You can get brass cover frets and they say they were the same as nickel. But I thought they were nickel under the brass plating. I hope not because that would look stupid when it starts to wear. Can anyone shed light on this subject?
