Yesterday I played my first gig with my melodic death metal band "Uncreation".
It was the birthday party for the 18th birthday of our bassist, and a real metal birthday it was...
The show took place at the Youth Centre in Reinbek near Hamburg, and we were one of four local metal bands playing that night. Definitely one of the best days in my life... although we played first we had the biggest crowd in front of the stage (at least 60 people), and just half into our first song we got a moshpit going. Lots of people even told me they liked us the most... ok lots of them were friends of me or the other band members... but not all.
Although IMO the band "Anguished" were the best... their guitarists both played Jacksons too. (A sevenstring Dinky which looked like a DR-7 and a Dinky Professional). Those guys were really awesome, but they all have played for ten years or more, so...
I played my Amber Sunburst KVX10 through the rig of the headliner-band's gitarrist... a really expensive Boss rack effect unit (dunno which model) controlled with a Roland midi footswitch into a JCM900 SL-X halfstack.
The other guitarist played his black Japanese Kelly Performer into my Peavey XXL head and Behringer BG-412 cab.
You know, we shared those two amps with all bands, but I didn't use my own amp because the other rig had a nicer clean setting and I play all the clean parts in my band.
Unfortunately I don't have a pic of when me and the other guitarist stood next to each other exchanging solos, but I haven't gotten all photos yet. I gave one guy my mailaddress who told me he had a great pic of that scene. Hopefully I'll get it soon so I can post it here!
Now here are the pics:
BTW, this night was all (melodic) death and black metal, no ebonical rap shit or something... and many a great solo was played!
Yeah, real metal is alive and Jacksons are well liked here in Hamburg!
