I see more LTD's than Jacksons in my travels, and even more Ibanez guitars than LTD's. Even if they sold the same amount of guitars, they are making the real killing on the ESP line as they are cheaper to produce than a USA Jackson, but retail in the same price range.

I have not said one thing negative about Jackson in any way or will I all I was saying is that we need to be careful what we do say about copied designs because almost every guitar company out there copied a design in some way from those companies that were there before them. I too am not impressed with what you get for the money with esp.
at no time did i call anyone any names and to do so is childish it was my observation only.

It seems that to say anything that is not towing the party line is wrong opens one up to attack that is really sad.

i agree if you love Jackson play them but it isnt wrong to play anything else either. The only electrics i own or have owned for a while are Jacksons and it is because i like what i can get for the money.

But i hear how great these Guitars are and yet there are so many posts that are about just getting a new Jackson and what do i need to change on it... If they are the best out there why change them so frequently? The best should always be the best without changes to it.. But then im just a troll and a person that knows nothing so what does it matter go on believing and acting as you do and I guess like most that have a disliking of Jackson Guitars I will sell my Jacksons and go back to Fender where its players seem to have some class rather than acting like a bunch of rude loudmouths because i dont want to be associated with that type of image. I always wondered why i got looked at so odd when i broke out my Jackson now i know... people were waiting for me to live up to the bad reputation of its players well no more tonight i trade it in on a strat and i hope you all get over yourselves and allow those that have a different opinion than yours to feel free to speak freely in the future if not it is only you that loses in the end

The problem is that in the last 7 months, you have only made ten posts, one of them enlightening the members of the forum that Jackson only has three original shapes in its lineup, and who are we to criticize Ibanez or ESP, etc.

You do not have enough "street cred" in this forum to be throwing that kind of attitude around.

Now, if a member such as myself (member for over a year, 500+ posts, yet still humbled by the senior members of the group) created a post that said...

"Correct me if I'm wrong, guys, but I only know of three guitar shapes produced by Jackson that could be considered "original designs"; Rhoads, Kelly Star, and the Warrior. Am I missing any?"

...no one would jump my sh*t.

It's all in the tone and the attitude; yours both were on the cocky side. You're lucky nobody skewered you any worse than they did based on your attitude alone; the content of your post was irrelevant.

The Soloist is an original shape. It is different enough from a Stratocaster to be classified as its own shape. Heck, Fender, Gibson, you name it has either flat out copied or offered guitars with a very similar outline. Fender still sells them under there own name.

Here is a nice ESP and a Soloist. You have to admit there is a STRONG resemblance.


People usually swap pickups as they prefer a certain tone. Some like EMG's and other Duncans or Dimarzios, etc. They swap them to customize the guitar to suit their preferance. People even rip out Fender Custom Shop special wound pickups in favor of Fralins or Rolphs.

Don't speak so highly of the Fender circles as that community is both larger than this one and has a higher percentage of snobs within it.

You buy a guitar because you like the feel of the neck. 600 companies could make the same guitar and the necks would feel different. No real player buys a guitar because of what it looks like. Its all in the neck. I prefer Jackson, Washburn, and Gibson necks, everything else is irrelevant. If ESP made a guitar with a neck I'd like, I would buy them too, but since I have 36 guitars, and none are ESP, that speaks volumes about how I feel about their necks. They sure look like nice guitars though....................The end...........
