• 750XL vs SLAT Pro

Can anyone give me a side by side comparison on these two models? I have a 750XL with a Schaller Floyd on it and am really looking for a string through. If anybody has something along these lines I would be interested in a trade. I didn't post this in the classified section because I am looking more for information at this time.

Thanks, Don

Re: 750XL vs SLAT Pro

All right, quick rundown of the four main Soloist model Archtops:

The original USA Jackson Archtops are 24 fret/25.5"scale.
These have a pretty thick body, similar to a Les Paul.

The Charvel 750's are 24 fret/24.75" scale.
Again, body thickness similar to a Les Paul.

The Jackson Archtop Professionals are 24 fret/24.75" scale.
These have a much thinner body than the USA AT's and the 750's.

The SLAT's are 22 fret/25.5" scale.
The body thickness of these are more like the AT Pros. Maybe not as thin, but close.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info! I didn't know the AT Pros had thinner bodies. How about the necks? Which is thinner, thicker, rounder, compound radius, mahogany/maple, etc.? Inquiring minds want to know!

My 1993 USA AT Custom Shop model has a very heavy and thick body, but the neck is slightly thinner than the newer SL2H models, which I have one of those also. Those are the only 2 I can compare to.Jack.
