Basswood!

More like Asswood, considering how it sounds.

Gee, thought they'd have a featured, galley auction or something fancy. Also no mention of the motorcycle giveaway that I saw?? Is'nt an r2 nut narrower than the bullseye and the other stratheads they recently released?

            Description says 1 & 5/8" Nut Width.

            The 25th was 1 & 11/16th", the Retros 1 & 3/4".

There will NOT be a regular production of an EVH series guitar.

I'm not so sure about that. In addition to all of the other good reasons for doing this it's also an excellent way to establish a price point. Compared to what these are going to go for a (hypothetical) low volume production EVH sig model with an MSRP of, say, $4999 (street price ~$3000 - $3500) would look downright inexpensive.

                Yes R2=1 5/8"....I thought the others were like 1 11/16 or 1 3/4

                  Re: New EVH Charvels

Actually, I'd guess that Xeno's correct. I would not expect any other stratheads to be offered this year. EVHs or not. The production numbers - 90 in total - are just about as many as they sold with the 25th run. And add that to the Retros already offered earlier this year. ...I would be surprised if anything else is offered before 2005.

                  Extremely disappointing from that perspective.

On the other hand, IMHO there's NFW they sell 90 guitars at $5k-plus. IMHO, the question is... Will they sell some of the (later in the run) EVHs well below $5k? Or will they reduce the numbers produced?

Yeah, sorry. Took me a minute to look them up.

I think they will sell 90 at more than 5k no problem. Heck, I know 4 or 5 people that would do it. I'd do one.

Whoohoo! I'm the high bidder on both of them. Let's see how long that lasts...

EVH must have another multi platinum cd for him to be a name again...Nu metal is here for awhile and 80s stuff is ancient history..Whether ya like it or not ..de tuned nu metal is where the money and kids are...Plus he'll be dead from alcaholism soon anyway..

                                A further thought...

My guess is that most of the 90 (...or however many finally get produced) will go to dealers. This will be revealed at NAMM. And, I'll go even further out on a limb: the announced list price will be (...yep, you guessed it ...) $5,150. But none of the dealer-sold guitars will be produced until after all of the auctions are over.

Semi-educated speculation. Then again, WTF do I know?
