Add me to the list of those who prefer the SKB for its fit. It just "feels" safer to know it can't move around in there.

Not familiar witht the G&G cases, but I have a couple of SKB's and I love them.

I think the G&G cases are better for touring and general use. The G&G cases are made from plywood and tolex covered, so if you were to stand on one, I'd feel safer with the G&G. I'd rather ship with the SKB, as it has a snug fit and would hold better to impacts (being dropped) on end... but it offers little top and bottom protection.
