Last night I measured the nut on my Jackson Stealth HX. It's 1 9/16" inches wide at the nut. Not 1 5/8" like I thought it was. Damn, that's narrow. But totally comfortable! Any other Jacksons have this size of neck? Any other Stealth owners wanna chime in?

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
1 9/16 inches is 1/16 less of an inch wide than 1 5/8 inches, can you really feel that difference? Perhaps. I own an original era Pro Stealth with the ebony board and mother of pearl logo, it's 1 11/16 inches wide. But width is not the same as thickness. The original USA Fusions were extremely thin. And I have a few Custom Shop Dinky models from 1989 that are ultra thin in their profile. #7315 is a 24 fret neck thinner than even the thinnest Fusions. Don't ask me to break out the calipers either, I leave the science at work each afternoon!"Got a crazy feeling I don't understand,

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
I probably should have said width.
My BC Rich Widow is 1 5/8" at the nut and feels thinner than my Stealth. The neck on that one isn't fat but it's fatter (deeper) than the Stealth.
I had never heard of a 1 9/16" neck until I measured mine.

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
Like Joe said, it's only 1/16" difference. It's odd to find one that narrow, yes, but then again, there's also only 1/16" difference between a 1 11/16" and a 1 5/8". 1 5/8" is the same as 1 10/16"

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
I've never heard of any Jackson or Charvel with a 1 9/16" nut width. Matter of fact I've never heard of a Floyd nut that size. Would that be an R1?? Never heard of such. And for those of you who can't feel the difference of 1/16" I just can't believe that. To me a 1 11/16" Jackson neck feels a mile wider than a 1 5/8" fender neck. Maybe it's just the flatter radius that makes it feel so different but my hand feels a huge difference. I dunno, that's just me.My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

I'm still in the process of wiring it up so I haven't played it thru an amp. Playing it unplugged, I find it a bit difficult to have chord/arpeggios ring out especially near the nut compared to wider string spacing of the Model series Charvels that I'm used to. I never realized how wide (okay, fat!) my fingers are at the tips til now!
Oh, in case the HX model has changed over the years, my HX is a 22 fret bolt-on neck with a string-thru bridge with 3 humbuckers. I actually don't know what year it's from."Your work is ingenius…it’s quality work….and there are simply too many notes…that’s all, just cut a few, and it’ll be perfect."

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
You wouldn't think 1/16 width would make a difference but it does to me. It's easy for me to feel the difference between a 1-5/8 and 1-11/16 nut. It's also easy to tell the difference between a R3 and R4 nut. Both nuts are 1-11/16 but the R4 has wider string spacing.

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
I do agree that you can feel a difference between a 1 11/16" nut and a 1 5/8" nut, no question. In fact, if I can find a 1 11/16" Floyd nut that has the same string spacing as a 1 5/8" nut BUT the height and radius of a 1 11/16" nut, I'll be swapping all mine out )
As for the thinnest Jackson neck I've ever played, that would be the JTX model

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
i have a Stealth EX and a TH-1 and they are very comfortable to play, i really like the necks on them. I really like the stealth body style also. makes for a very comfortable guitar all the way around i think.

Re: Thinnest Jackson neck ever?
The thinnest neck I've ever played on a Jackson would be a Charvel Model 3 that I had. It was thinner than a wizard neck. I wish I still had that one... the base of the neck had the initials GPZ on it (not pen inked or burned) in it from the factory. The 2nd Amendment: America's Original Homeland Defense.
