Re: Jackson Soloist (USA) Construction

Could someone please explain the "scarf joint"? What is it for and why is it done? How is it done and is there a better method?

Slightly off-topic, yet still slightly on-topic, but there's a thread in the Efraid of Ebay section about Hamers on Ebay just posted. Take a look!

Holy cow!! Thanks for the tip. Those are nice to look at, but they're a bit (LOL) out of my league price-wise .

My 1988 Archtop is made the same way, but they hid the neck joint with a slightly pigmented cherry finish. The wood on the rear my guitar is not a cap on the back as the neck through wood on the end (at the strap button) is solid with no seams from the bottom up to the binding.

The last 12 frets look kinda hard to play with my big fingers!
