• about all-maple construction gt,help

I mean maple fb/neck/body,today these gts seems so rare,at least in my country,I am a metalhead and a big rhoads, lynch fan.in fact i got the idea from ESP George Lynch's Sig M1,but i dont wanna buy sig gts(i donnt like esp too),so i would very glad to see some smart guys recommend some models to me,and no floyd would be better.
btw:I know some early 80s charvel and kramer have some models did fit my taste, but so hard to seek one today, especially in my country...so i really appreciate ur posts

Kevin at www.eastonguitars.com will be selling these for $434 US without a case. You need to put 1/2 down... but it has an alder body, but maple/maple neck... and a floyd.

What you're asking for will cost several thousand, for a custom shop guitar. This is much much less.

Hey Xeno,
While I realize Kevin posted the price on his website, I'm pretty sure we can't / shouldn't post dealer pricing in here.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I don't think there are a ton of maple/maple/maple guitars out there. Your best bet, particularly if you want to keep the price down, would probably be to buy a body/neck from someone like Warmoth and assemble it / have it assembled.

In relation to all this;

How many of you have played a maple bodied guitar? It should be heavyweight and with a pretty trebly sound, right?

I'm kinda curious how it would be to play one.

sunbane...on a recent visit to another JCFers house i brought a couple of ALL MAPLE bcrichs, we A/B'd them with some bolton charvels & jacksons & were surprised at what we heard. the maple guitars were NOT as bright as some of the alder bodied guitars. & in some cases the maple guitars had a warmer more rounded fuller tone, than some of the boltons we tried. they were run thru the same amp same setting same chord just went from one guitar to another.

For a nice USA guitar with a choice of any body or neck wood, fret size, pickup and wiring configuration, with the choice of maple, ebony, now they even offer rosewood fingerboards, check out Carvin.

I have a maple bosy Kramer Baretta. THe whle guitar ways a gaudy 10 lbs!

This fukker will wear your ass out in a matter of minutes when hanging around your neck.

I've experimented with a few different pickups before settling on an EMG 58.(YES, I said 58)

I had a Dimarzio TOne Zone and a Duncna JB in their at different times and it seemd to dull out those pickups.

I know everybody and their mama claims how bright maple is but i must say, I seem to getter tone of the maple bodies with lesser output pickups like Schallers, Screamin Demon and my 58.

All-in-all, I don't think it is worth having all that weight.
Now you REALLY know why Lynch got huge!

My Lado and BCR Wartribe are both all maple except for the fretboards (rosewood and ebony). They are both darker sounding than all of my guitars.

Why don't you get the parts from Warmoth and build it yourself?

I've played an all mahogany V for 10 years now, that is as thick as a Les Paul. It weighs a lot, and when I play lighter guitars I end up with a cramping shoulder... I also prefer back heavy guitars, rather than nose-diving ones.

From what I've heard in this thread, I know what wood I'd pick for a guitar body in case I'd get rich enough to order a custom...
