          Re: Dallas guitar show

The Dallas Guitar show was quite lame. 8000 guitars. 70% "F-hole" hollow bodies, 10% vintage strats ($4000+), and Les Pauls (some nice). Less than 20 super strats. Prob saw 5 Jacksons. Rhoads and SL2H's. Nice, but not wow. It was for fuddy-duddies. IMO, $30 down the drain for my son and I. ..except for the big Martin booth.

              Scott,
Nice meeting you at the show Sunday. I think of the Guitar show as if I were going to the BEST damn harware store in town. Nice just to look around. Not a bad way to spend a Sunday afternoon and I have spent a lot more than $15 on tickets for other venues that aren't near as interesting. Just my two cents.

Satriani made me want to throw my guitars away. It was unreal. We were front row for Lynch, got a pick , and then got to meet him. Cool.

I told the whole story in the "Artists and their gear" forum. Man, I felt like a little kid meeting Superman or something.

                              Ah great!!!
                              Everyone chimed in!
No I can put the face to the JCF name!!

As for Satriani's performance, I didn't really catch much if it being side/back stage during most of it chatting with George, Johnny A, Number 1 Son, Rhett Butler, Rick Derringer and lots more great artists...
After Joe and Andy did their guitar duet and the few people that were allowed back there after the performance finished to get their autographs, Joe and I got a chance to pick up from where we left off last.

George seemed a bit troubled from the minute he arrived.
and pretty smug backstage through the event..
The only time back there that he lit up was when he walked up to us and said hi to Joe.

All in all it was blast and pleasure to meet you JCF guys!!!

                              Scott

PS: Quad, you came by a couple 2-3 times, what chicks are you referring too... There are so many! hehhee

Sounds like it was at least interesting. I hope Summer NAMM is pretty cool! I have never been to one. I hope to meet some of you guys. So far the only member I've met face to face is STLKINGV (Adrian) He's a great guy. I saw Strangletooth (Pat) but didn't get to talk to him. We were at the guitarmageddon here in St. Louis.
