Don't make me break my foot off in your a...er...I mean... Don't make me break out the dictionary!

Anyway...."little to no foot traffic"...also no such thing at NAMM!

24-fret string-thru (hell, I'd even take one with a Floyd) Archtop Soloist. Yeah, there's the SLATQH, but it's only got 22 frets.

Add some DiMarzio pups to the line (like a Super Distortion) instead of just Duncans.

How about a brand new body shape?

Now we have RR, Soloist, Kelly, King V and Warrior. Oh and Rosewell too. I think it's time for Jackson to come up with a mean looking evil axe now.

I just want an old-school archtop Soloist. Just the basics...OFR, Duncans, ebony board, sharkfins (possibly reversed like on the old archtop pros)...basically an archtop SL2HMAH.

yes and no.... take matt at osg's run of chlorine soloists he did. not all of them were for jcf members. i think that if the idea is good enough to appeal to a widespread audience, i think you could have a run of 10 or so made without having to round up the buyers yourself. not a guarantee, but certainly not impossible.

Oh yeah, tilted back necks to have non-recessed Floyds would be nice to have, too, IMO!

Pickup selection on production models. (They let you pick your colors out of a vast array. Why not pickups?)

Japanese Imports
Need to have a better left handed offering instead of just one model. (Schecter offers just about every import left handed.)
RR5 would be AWESOME among others

That's all I have

Re: Summer NAMM Wish List

I've mentioned this a couple times already, but I think Jackson should offer more non-Trem models, period. String-through is a beautiful thing and it seems to be a lot of people's preference lately. Jackson would do amazing business if they offered more models in this direction.

You might be surprised to find how many guitar players these days find double-locking trems to be an unnecessary burden.

My wish list:

- More Solists, Kellys and Dinkys with string through (I know there are a few already, but it's still the exception, not the rule)

- Duncans on MIJ guitars! I have NO problem whatsoever with the JB/Jazz combo... it's my all-time favorite, in fact. I would rather pay a little extra than be stuck with EMG HZ's or Duncan Designed.

- More ebony fretboards on MIJ guitars. Ebony fretboards are a very nice luxury and one of things that really sets Jackson apart from the competition.

Other than that, I'm totally satisfied. As long as the overall quality doesn't drop, I'm happy.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">NO! That's missing the point entirely. The SLSMG is supposed to appeal to people who want a quality Soloist WITHOUT the trem. I think they hit the nail on the head with the SLSMG, because THAT'S the type of guitar that sells in today's market. I'm not sure about the sales figures on this model, but if they're down, it's only because word hasn't gotten out to the ESP camp yet.

Jacksons are often viewed as dated '80s relics and one of the biggest reasons is because the cumbersome Floyd Rose is mainly suitable for dive-bombing shredders and the trend is towards non-locking bridges that facilitate alternate tunings. I don't care if you like current rock and metal trends or not, the money is NOT in Floyd Rose-equipped models. Look at the massive wealth of success ESP has had. Personally, I like Jackson a hell of a lot more than ESP because I think they offer more quality, more innovation and just better guitars. We should try to beat them at their own game.

I'm not saying that Jackson should forsake their past, just not be afraid to meet the demands of current players. A lot of people will say "Jackson hasn't bowed to trends EVER" and I don't think they should bow to trends so much as to just listen carefully to their customers. Jackson and Charvel both listened to their customers when they founded the company... that was the whole point.

Also, while we're on the topic of suggestions... more endorsements would be nice. There are a lot of bands out there now who DON'T suck (if you can believe that) that would do amazing things with a Jackson in their hands.
