Check out Mothers Finest they ROCK.
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">John Hayes is a damn fine funk / rock guitarist as well as a very easy going, humble, approachable guy. He plays a lot of dates with Mothers Finest and also has a number of other things going on. He's based out of Amsterdam now. The John Hayes Project opened for the KISS European tour. I think he still has one newer Jackson although he mostly plays a Historic LP now. Robert Witte bought a couple of early Soloists from him. If you check his website he has some excellent pic's of John at his house as well as the guitars.
I know a few guys of very different ethnic backgrounds/age backgrounds that are playing Jacksons locally. There have been more than a few good used ones floating around in the pawn shops at great prices, so naturally some guys who wouldn't normally consider buying a Jackson picked them up. While Jacksons are associated with metal, they are actually very well made guitars that can be used for almost any style of music that you would normally play with an electric instrument.
Then there was the guy from P-Funk that had the Model 6 on Ebay...
