IMHO Jacksons are built for shredders and players. There are a few other good necks out there - Hamer Californian, Les Paul, SG even, Parker Fly -
I have played almost every guitar out there except for the custom shops like GMW, Suhr, etc whom I'm sure make a fine product.
What I keep finding though is that Jackson builds the best guitar for shredding both in playability and tone.
I don't think there is a finer guitar for the money for ROCK.
Now if you want a jazz guitar or country then thats different. I have played $4000 Tom Andersons that sounded sterile compared to a USA made Jackson.
