Diamond-Plate Plastic?

Hey guys,

Jackson made 3 Jackson PC1-s with Diamond-plate plastic pickguards because metal would cause the sustainer to not function correctly. I emailed Alan Hoover and he told me that nothing conductive can be within 1.5 inches of the sustainer. I just made a aluminum pickguard, but I really want the sustainer. So does anyone know which company Jackson gets the diamond-plate plastic from? Or any companies that makes plastic diamond-plate?

Diamondplate plastic is available in accessory trim kits for trucks/suv's.

Go to www.stylinconcepts.com Click on "exterior" then "stainless trim" You will see it.

A little expensive though.

Any large auto parts store should have a sheet of it...

I guess I should re word that. I have seen the sheets of plastic in the stores, but that may have been for demo. Bedliners etc. Its worth a shot to try an auto parts store...

It seems to be only available in black and they don't mention the thickness.

At the NAMM show we were discussing the plastic materials at the Jackson booth. They got it from an auto parts store, it was part of the an actual display rack of some sort.

Why would you want to cover the top of a PC-1? I've never seen one in solid finish anyway, what a shame to hide the beautiful top... [img]graemlins/scratchhead.gif[/img]
