<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">The foam seems to be needed to keep the unwanted overtones away from the lowest string. I had to do that on my Carvin with reverse headstock, because the longer length of the string behind the nut seems to make the string ring out a little, and it can be annoying. I only tune that guitar to Eb, but sometimes I drop the low string to Db and you can hear the overtone even more.

As a firm supporter of 7-string (and beyond) guitars, I'm excited about this one. The price will play a big role into whether on not I actually buy it, though. Can't wait to see the Camo and the 'Burst.
