    Another color rant

    I want to rant a bit on colors. [img]/images/graemlins/rant.gif[/img] I have been looking online for new soloists. I have to say that I havent found alot of variety for colors out there. Alright, I know that this is a matter of personal opinion, but there must be some people who agree. It seems I have seen alot of the following finishes: Black, Skulls, Black Ghost flames, Trans Amber, all the trans finishes, snake, shattered glass.

    I wonder why dealers dont stock other colors like:
    Ferrari red, Electric Blue, Deep Candy red, Candy Blue, Cobalt blue, CABO, cherry sunburst, raspberry burst, faded wine red,, silver swirl, and white.

    These all seem cool in the catalog....

    Whats up with that? I would like to see these colors. Is there some reason we arent seeing these out in stores or on the net? Just curious as there seems to be repetition out there in colors and I wonder why dealers dont try some of these colors? anyone got any ideas? how bout our dealers who hang out here?

    I have seen Cabo and Cobalt Blue on al 3 dealers of JCF.
    I think the popular colors gets more in stock.
    Since Jackson offers a lot of colors as option unlike some other brands only offer in 3 or 4 colors, and these USA Jackson guitar ar high priced(over 1K), I understand why many dealers will not carry tons of soloist in every color.
    You can always order one though.

      Probably because most the stores dont really care and aren't enthusiastic about Jacksons as you, and dont really care about seeing every color, they are just intrested in selling a guitar, so they stock the most popular colors.

        Exactly. Many dealers play it safe and only stock the most popular colors that they expect to sell well. And Jackson builds the USA Select lots accordingly.

        You shouldn't expect to see every available finish out there somewhere. Sure, it'd be nice. But that's what special orders are for. If you can't find what you want, call a dealer and order it.

        And your next rant will be...

        "Well, how do I know if I like it enough to actually order a particular finish, if I can't ever see it on the guitar I'm interested in? Those tiny litle color swatches in the catalogs aren't very helpful."

I have customers complain to me about that when they are looking at cars. the color displays we have from the manufacture SUCK a$$. Its a joke for a customer to make a decision on a $45,000 vehicle on what the brochures show. SO I feel for them. I think that they should have better color swatches for guitars too. on the net or in the catalogs.

          Good points, I realize they have to stock what sells, but how do they know the others wont sell just as fast? I mean I have never seen Ferrari Red, Electric Blue, Candy Blue, Candy apple green or Black Cherry online or in a store. Just curious as to why I havent seen any and I keep a pretty good eye on the net.

          Thanks for the input. I want to know what other people think about this too.

            Probably because people never ask for these colors.
            If there were 5 guys asking for Black Soloist at the same store,I am sure the store will have them in stock all the time to sell fast.

                At least they offer the guitars in multiple colors-- unlike Ibanez, for example.
