        Well then - what about sweat rusted screws on the pickup rings vs. shiny new ones?

        I think sweat rusted sounds way better - in fact I now artificially "sweat rust" all my hardwear.

        Just sounds better.

          Oh yes, the rust gives it Mojo. To my ears, stainless steel screws sound sterile, but add punch to the mid range-upper-lower end.

            <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You are right about them sounding sterile. You could install stainless steel screws in a plank of wood and they'd still sound the same

              Chuck those stainless steel screws onto a nice broom and you'll have the exact same tone as the plank of wood, or any guitar! [img]graemlins/poke.gif[/img]
