Man this gets old-if you got a bitch talk to Kevin or call a different dealer.

Buy a Esp or and Ibanez-so what. I still don't quite understand what your saying-you bought a guitar without knowing how much it is. And Kevin ordered a custom shop guitar for you without a deposit or total cost-I call bullshit.

Har Har, Deneb. I'm the first to say it probably because I'm not sick to death of repeating it over and over and over and over like most others are. FMIC/J/C don't give me freebies for it, either. I do it to make sure everyone understands who is who and who does what and who does not do what.

Though if they wanna reward me for my tireless devotion.....

Every time I talk to Kevin he does a great job at getting things done. Maybe a "communication breakdown" happened somewhere in the chain.

He didn't buy it, he put in an order form and it's been 6 weeks and Fender hasn't even responded and told him how much it cost....How come 90% of the people in this thread didn't bother to read the goddamn post?

It's not being built yet, he's waiting for a price quote. I'm sure you haven't been waiting 9 months to find out how much it's going to cost you....Usually it only takes a couple of days to get a quote, so this is why this guy isn't impressed after 6 weeks of waiting just to find out how expensive his guitar is going to be....

Besides that, Newc are they paying you to say this **** to people? I swear I've seen it like 200X, not saying it does not need to be said, but it always seems like you're the first on it.

              "Fender/Jackson to Newc"

MAKE SURE people understand we're not the same company...You'll get stuff.

              Newc

              OK...

              to be continued!

              [/ QUOTE ]

Newc is not the only person to say it and it needs to be said until it finally sinks in.

Having gone through this with Kevin I can say that their is a problem with Jackson getting back to him. I don't know what the problem is but it does exist.

Alright bro I apologize for being a dick. I am not quite myself lately-spent the summer in and out of the hospital from a Mcycle wreck-just quit the painkillers last week after 2months of 24 hrs a day pain meds. Broke left hand so I can barely play right now-Sorry Bro

Squeaky wheel gets the grease-bug the **** out of Kevin so he bugs the **** out of them-or start pulling the ignorant pest routine with Jackson-start calling them everyday-when they tell you to call your dealer tell them you have.

Depending on the Custom Options, it may reasonably take longer. It took a while to get a reply to a specific option I wanted for my Custom, but since I couldn't get that option, I pretty much let the idea go till later.

With all due respect, I had similar issues. I waited months - yes, MONTHS! - just to get a firm quote and work order on a custom shop guitar order.

I'm pretty sure RIP's issues are different than what I was dealing with at the time. However, in the past year or so I've heard similar stories from several different people and at several different dealers.

I wouldn't dissuade anyone from ordering the custom axe of their dreams. Nonetheless, I do not get a good vibe from it.

P.S.- Newc, I'm sorry bud, but you're just not getting it. Ordering a custom shop axe usually (...emphasis on usually) goes like this:

                              - You send specs to a dealer, and ask for his price. Most will quote you an estimated price based on the specs, but have it subject to the J/C custom shop's own actual price quote.

                              - The dealer will send the specs to J/C's custom shop requesting an actual price quote. Usually this takes, at most, a day or two. J/C sends this back to the dealer.

                              - Dealer confirms the price. If there's any difference than what was previously discussed, the dealer would contact the customer to discuss. If the customer agrees, the dealer places the order with J/C.

                              - J/C will then create a formal work order for the guitar. This is J/C's actual internal document with instructions on the guitar's specs, for its eventual build. Typically, I've personally seen (or otherwise heard) of this done in as little as a few days, as much as two or three weeks.

                              - The work order is sent to the dealer for them to confirm the specs and sign off on it. Some dealers will actually ask the customer to review and confirm that it's correct. The dealer signs the work order, and sends it back to J/C. As I understand it, THIS is when the order is formally "placed" with the custom shop and enters the build time queue. i.e., It's "day 1" of the wait.

As I understand his posts, RIP has been waiting weeks just to get an actual J/C price quote.

It also took me quite a while to get a quote for a custom Charvel during the same time period. I took my specs to the dealer at the begining of July. After several inqiries as to the status of the quote, I finally got it on August 13th. I was not surprised about this though because of the new roll-out and NAMM, I figured they were pretty busy. I OK'd the order. They said it would take about 8 months to complete. I bet it will be like 12 or more months, but I am cool with that. Pateince is a virtue.
