• Custom headstock question

Now that Fender owns Jackson/ Charvel, is it possible to make a custom Jackson with that big Fender strat headstock like Yngwie's? I mean, there should be no violation of patent if the owner of two companies are the same, so maybe a Jackson soloist with a bir strat head won't be a problem. Any idea? Re: Custom headstock question

I asked McD about this very question...and I'm afraid NO is the answer. I wanted a PC1 with a start headstock. Even though Fender owns Jackson now, it still doesn't make sense for them to put their "signature" headstock on another guitar. In a sense I agree with this mentality, because it might possibly hurt strat sales. And, they did let the public order the custom charvels with strat heads up until the end of April.

It doesn't matter how you rationalize it, the answer will always be 'No'.
At least not until Jackson buys Fender

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Uh, no they did not. They allowed orders on the Charvel Retro strathead models. Two guitars, a bullseye strat and a lightning bolt star. Predetermined specs, with no options allowed.

I realize that's probably what you meant. But that's a very different thing than allowing custom shop strathead orders. Thought this should be clarified.

Those masterbuilt strats are way expensive. Probably in line with custom shop Jackson or even higher.
