I would say that this thread is timeless. In fact, many of the people who posted 6 years ago probably have different tastes now... Or maybe they have their guitar already!

Ideally, I'd want a set, but hey.

    Jackson Warrior 7
    Alder Body
    Maple Neckthrough
    25.5" scale
10"-16" compound radius Maple fretboard, black sharkfin inlays
Black finish with white bevels, matching black headstock, black binding on neck and HS.
    Gold Hardware
    OFR7
    EMG 81-7 Bridge
    EMG 707-TW Neck, default SC.
    V/V, 3-way toggle.
    4+3 SLS style headstock

    King V 7
    Alder Body
    Maple Neckthrough
    27" scale
10"-16" compound radius ebony fretboard, MOP Sharkfin inlays
White finish with black bevels, white HS, white bound neck + headstock
    Gold Hardware
Locking TOM + Stoptail w/fine tuners
    EMG 707-TW Bridge
    EMG 707-TW Neck,
    V/V/T, 5-way blade.
    4+3 SLS Style headstock

Essentially like my Agile Hornet 7, but with the playability I've only ever experienced playing my Jacksons.
    ENGL E530. ProRackG. Mesa 50/50.
    Celestion G12K-85s in a Peavey MS-412 cab.
    Pile of 7-string guitars.
    Charvel Model 4
    Metal all the time.

      - Randy Rhoads model
      - 6 string
      - 24 2/4th scale
      - 24 jumbo frets, stainless
      - Figured Koa body (with this a slight decrease in the bodysize to keep things in proportions with the scale)
      - Figured koa neck(thru), profile like my Fusion XL, matched headstock
      - Ebony fingerboard
-Inlay/Binding, Fire opal binding -just kidding, it should be a player, not a bracelet- Gold MOP (it exists) inlays, either sharkfins or crowns (real crown shape, not the MOP crowns found on gibsons) Logo too
Just having a hard time figuring out what kind of binding would look good with that
      - Reccessed Floyd, Schaller locked tuners (keeping the locknut, I'm lazy in stringwinding) Schaller straplock buttons all hardware in gold finish,
      - P'ups, to be decided, though for more tonal variety I'd might put in a single or stacked in the neck and a Duncan Custom or CustomCustom in the bridge
-3 way toggle, 1 volume, perhaps a 2nd knob as dummy for later ideas
"There's nothing taking away from the pure masculinity I possess"

      -"You like Anime"

      "....crap!"

As far as functionality, I own mine. Im sooo whipped by my SL2H, just perfect player and great tone to my ears. So, Id have to say my dream guitar would have to be an SL2H in something like Neon Lime green small metal flake with matching headstock and P/Us and rings. I think the JCF did one like this as a limited run. Wish Id have been around for that and had the cash.

I too love the ones I have decided to keep.
But my dream guitar is one that hasn't been made yet.

I made the prototype and have been playing it for
          over 20 years:

The real one will be this:
Same shape, 7/8 BC Rich Bich
          Mahogany body
          Figured maple top, lightly contoured.
Quartersawn maple neck. I will stay with a bolt on for options.
TOM bridge as above with a string through TP configuration.
Ebony board, no inlays except on side.
          SS Jumbo sized frets
          24 fret
          3/side tuners
          Exact same electronics setup-no tone,
          2 independent volumes, phase/split/HB switches
          on both humbuckers.
          Three way selector.

Usually all those switching options choke off open tone
on the humbuckers but somehow this setup works great.
I have to surgically deconstruct it to see just WTF
          I did.
I have not found it anywhere and twenty years is a very long time.

It would be a lefty RR24M style guitar thats white with black bevels, angled humbucker, with a Seymour Duncan Blackout. I would be the happiest lefty that ever lived.
Is that a banana in your pants or are you just happy to see me?

Jackson Explorer, mahogany neck through mahogany body, black Jackson headstock with the Gold logo from the original Rhoads, or the JCF01 run. Gold hardware. Floyd Rose. Ohh yaa...

Umm... Pickups, probably gold or black EMG (81 bridge, 89 neck), maybe Dimarzio Super Distortion (bridge) and PAF Pro (neck).

              For colour:

I'll just paste the text of the email I sent out for price quotes. There's was only one replay that I could actually afford, but it was so cheap it scared me off. Shoulda took 'em up on it in retrospect. I got a decent Lado neck to use, now I just have to finish the CAD drawing...

                • single-hum, single volume; rear-loaded bolt-on

                • unfinished carved-top mahogany tele-shape body for 25.5" scale neck (Fender neck pocket dimensions). I'd like a more pronounced carve than the Esquire GT, similar to this. I'd also like a lower bout scoop incorporated, along the lines of the Jackson Fusion.

                • TOM bridge (recessed to eliminate neck angle?) with strings through body

                • rear neck recess scoop & belly contour
                ('90s Jackson/Charvel style preferred)

                • flush-fit rear cover would be nice too

If these options are available I'd appreciate a price quote.

                Thank you,

I'd take a Frankie replica tho... and sell the hell out of it.

Dinky. Oiled neck. Humbucker from Hell and Tonezone buckers. A good floyd. Volume, three way toggle, two small 3-way toggles for choosing series-parallel-split.
Hazard Yellow. Maple fretboard. Archtop. No binding. Sounds good?
