Sorry Dewd....That's terrible! I had the same thing happen to me on my SLATQH, only I didn't have too see mine shattered like that. Mine was more of a fracture....That's nothing short of annihilated. Hey.... Remember the "He-Man Woman Haters Club" on the Our Gang show? We should start a club for JCFers who get shipping damaged guitars.

I'm sorry to see those pictures too. Unfortunately I have recieved a couple that were damaged in shipping myself. One was just cracks in the clearcoat with no cracks in the wood. And most recently UPS completely crunshed in one corner of a Rhoads case. It was so severe that the latch closest to that corner had to be pried open with a screwdriver. Fortunately however, the guitar itself was unharmed. They paid to replace the case. in addition, I've had some smaller items like the V plate for a Rhoads and pickguard for a Rhoads bent in shipping. The damage was done by both UPS and Fedex. And to top it off, the last Jackson I recieved was simply left on my doorstep by UPS. I found it when I arrived home from work that night. I'm now very nervous when guitars or parts are coming to me through UPS or Fedex
Anyway, I really hope they pay you for that neck without jerking you around for months.

Hey Bobvex,
I know this is off-topic, but I also use the Sennheiser 1092 digital wireless system as you do, and I was just curious: Do the batteries seem to not last very long on the bodypak for you? The manual states 12 hour battery life, but there's NO WAY that my bodypak's battery life lasts that long...How long does a brand new name-brand alkaline battery last in your bodypak, just out of curiosity's sake? I am happy with the Sennheiser system completely, with the exception of the battery life thing...

I'm just about completely scared away from EVER shipping a guitar again. As wonderful and easy as the internet has made it to find great guitars all over the map, it's the shipping companies that have rained on the parade with shoddy treatment of the guitars and even shoddier treatment of the buyer when a claim has to be made.

You have my deepest sympathy on your loss.

That really sucks, I hope they come through for you on this one. I know that guitar wasn't cheap.

I ordered a Warmoth neck a few weeks back. I saw the UPS truck drive up so I met the driver at the door. She saw me, dropped the package on the porch, said thanks and walked off. The box was litteraly "wrapped" around the neck. It looked like a big gorilla had wrung it out like a wet towel. I said "whoa, wait, I wanna open this in front of you". She said, "doesn't matter, you still have to file a claim, or you could just reject it" (I knew this but I wanted a witness as I opened it). Luckily the neck was perfect, I don't know how.

Everytime I ship a guitar I'm on pins and needles until I know it's been delivered safe. It's almost not worth the worry anymore.

That’s got to be one of the worst I have seen. Especially since it was packed so well. Did the box have tire tracks on it or anything? You should make them get you a whole new guitar and not just a neck!!

Looks similar to a USA KV-2 the USPS hosed up for me. I really feel sorry for you. There is no worse service to deal with on a damage claim than the USPS. You are going to go crazy over several months trying to get them to get off their ass and pay you. It took me 3 months and the threat of a lawsuit by contacting their legal department and asking for "service agent" information to serve with a lawsuit.

Dude, that sucks! I have actually picked up guitars at UPS and watched them drop the box 3 feet of the dock to the floor. I always open them right there too! Those guys don't give a shit, it might be underwear for all they know.

Dude, don't let them repair that neck. Even if it's repaired, it's value is cut in half(or less) from being repaired. They need to pay the full insured value(if you can prove that's what you paid for it).
