Some of these fucking retards use that as a challenge to break your stuff on purpose because they don't want to take the time to lift/move the boxes carefully. Sometimes these guys will just take the guitar boxes and let them drop straight head or bottom first off loading docks. That's how the necks can get so easily broken. Where they give it to you in the ass is if it does get broken, they can say "well, it didn't say it was 'fragile'."

I've been really lucky I guess, I've ordered 3 brand-new Jacksons online now (none of them were shipped to me in a case, just those standard brown guitar shipper boxes you always see in back of any GC), and all of them I received in perfect condition...After seeing those nightmare pics by the thread starter though, I am wondering how I got them without any damage to them at all ......

Go in the post office and raise holy hell until someone rights you a check . I'd be so pissed I'd end up in jail. I'm really sorry about the neck but glad you got the replacement. Good luck getting the money back!

Those pics must be the worst I`ve ever seen, sorry bro. 3 weeks ago I recieved a Les paul and the case had a big hole in it. The guitar had a damage on the backside too. Still wondering how this turns out. There`s just a lot of phone calls and a complete waste of time

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">What you said about intentional damage is probably true in some cases but there's another issue here as well: claims. FedEx's contract states that items marked "fragile" receive no special treatment so marking them as such will probably make it *harder* to collect on a claim (e.g., "Well, you *knew* it was fragile and therefore that it might not withstand shipping.", Etc.). With USPS on the other hand, whether or not you properly labeled the item "fragile" goes the other way: it seems to be a factor in your favor in collecting on a claim.

That really sucks - sorry to hear about that. It was a really cool guitar which I had my eye on as well.....by reputation, I'm sure Matt will help you sort this out.
Just a thought: why does the onus always seem to fall to the addressee to follow this up? Surely the sender (store or individual) should pursue this as they are usually the one who has instigated the 'contract' with the parcels company.....
