When my JCF-01 showed up broken I had to initiate the claim by calling UPS and having an adjuster come to the house and take pictures of the guitar and packaging. The sender also contacted UPS the same day to start the ball rolling on his end. That was months ago and last time I spoke with him UPS was still giving him the run around. The claim does get handled by the person who actually shipped the item and paid for the insurance.

What a crying shame. Was it a G&G case? I am truly sorry to hear it. I hope it all works out for you. Maybe they'll make you a new one? Would you wait?

This is why I prefer SKB cases for shipping. Overall, those G&Gs are cooler and certainly classier. But, IMHO, the SKBs hold the guitars in place more securely and are less prone to shipping damage, particularly in the headstock area.

...That's not fact, though. Just an edumicated guess on my part. :shrugs:

(That probably wouldn't have mattered in the situation, though, as that custom body with the cutouts probably required a G&G anyway.)

Lastaly - I'm truly sorry to hear about your grandfather, I recently lost a close member of my family and can sympathize with your loss. If only our loved ones were as easy to replace as these guitars are.
