ok I'm just asking opinion here.....how close do ya'll think that the Model series Charvels compare to today's Made in the USA guitars....to be quite honest I really like the playability of the Model Series guitars and I have tried out new US soloists and such....(granted the trem on the newer soloists WAS recessed) and i find that the Model series (I play a Model 5fx and a Model 3) is every bit as good as the newer guitars that i tried....and i have to say...those old Jackson made USA pickups absolutely ROKKED!!just want to see if ya'll think.... that those older Japan made ones are on par with the newer USA ones...just to see what ya think...thanx...and yes I am about seven Morgans and Cokes deep so please forgive any typos or bad English that ya read lol.

Re: Not a poll
The ones I played at NAMM played good, but would definitely have played better if I coulda set one up to my preference. That said, comparing the NAMM Charvels to the 650XL I had, I'd say they're even.

Re: Not a poll
The old Charvel model series is every bit as good as the currenet USA guitars with the exception of hardware and pickups IMO.
I like Duncans over the Jackson pickups and the JT6 trem while good, isn't as nice as the Original Floyds that are on the current guitars.
I play my old model 5 more than just about any other guitar I have.
Sweet guitars.
