Re: OH HELL FUCKING YES!

It seems a lot of players out there can really play good, they just don't on the music because not enough people want to hear it.

I saw a video of JON MAYER shredding on some stuff that would catch the eye of the late great SRV.

      Re: OH HELL FUCKING YES!

This is exactly what we need!!! If more people in the publics eye start playing Jacksons then maybe some of the kids out there will realize what they've been missing out on. I saw a kid at GC the other day playing a schecter flame top and later an Ibeenhad. They were pretty nice looking guitars and they had the similar shape to a dinky or soloist, ya know... so I show the kid the tabacco burst or whatever they call that color, SL1 I had been playing and he says to me "Oh I don't like playing heavy stuff like those 80's bands, I like jazz." I just about shit myself! Just looking at it he didn't want to play it! I just walked away...

I never liked Kid Rock, but if it gets Jackson more exposure it's fine.

So now is everyone out in MTV-land going to think Jacksons are made in Mississippi?

                  Re: OH HELL FUCKING YES!

This is excellent news! Seeing Jackson get some prime TV spots on MTV is just awesome, its about time. I really dont care who the guy is or how well he plays, the point is Jackson is getting some very well deserved and overdue exposure on TV. Big names like Kid Rock are gonna influence kids purchasing decisions on musical instraments, its that simple. Hey lets face it, we were impressionable at that age too, whatever guitars were big on MTV, we wanted them. There are just too many other brands getting all the air time. Maybe FMIC has got their marketing machine in motion and getting the product into the spotlight?...? I hope so. Bottom line is, this is great. Kudos to the Kid Rock guitarist for playing a Jackson!!! Re: OH HELL FUCKING YES!

Both of Kid Rock's guitarists are quite capable of ripping it up. I don't really listen to Kid Rock, but from the few TV concerts I've seen of the band, they have a wicked stage presence and really know how to have a good time, in my opinion. They're excellent together, even if you may not enjoy their songs.

The other guitarist, last time I saw him on TV, played a hot-rodded Fender Strat.

Not into Kid Rock but it's gotta be a good thing to have a player from a high profile band playing a U.S.A. Jackson!! Chucksplatter

That's Kenny Olson, and he's been a "Fender Guy" for a long time. A one-time endorser who decided to play lots of other guitars because, gasp!, he actually liked them, and has always remained a close friend of ours.

He's funnier than hell, and leads a rock star lifestyle to the letter!

We had him scheduled to do a 9:30am photo shoot at a NAMM show about 5 years ago ... he shows up at about 4:30pm, with bloodshot eyes and lines on his face from the pillow. Just woke up

And I agree, he's a really good guitarist, and while I'm not a fan of the band, they sure know how to have fun on stage and pass that vibe on to the audience. He was also one of the first endorsers of the modern SUNN amps.

They seemed to be pretty hot and in demand back in the 80's and those are amongst the most desireable Jacksons.

Yeah, I think some of the different people in charge back then had something to do with that (I could be wrong and I'm sure if I am you guys will correct me ). I'm not saying anything about the people at FMIC, but we might be about to see whether or not Jackson can keep the quality up as the demand goes up. All I'm saying is idea of Jackson becoming more popular is kind of a scary one because generally speaking as the demand goes up, the quality goes down. I haven't played a USA Jackson that didn't play like like a wet dream and I don't want to see the day when they don't.
