Villa Park Guitar Show Sept 11-12

Any of you guys heading up to the show this weekend? I plan on going early Saturday morning, sometime after 11am.

This would be my first time there. Can someone whos been there before tell me if it a cash deal place or do the vendors take checks/CC?

At any guitar show I would immediately assume it is a cash deal. Some dealers take credit cards (not many) and few take checks, but it isn't worth losing something you really want because the particular guitar you want is at a booth that is cash only.

It's usually cash deals there most won't take checks...I don't know about cc's. I'd be safe and just carry cash...I may hit it up on Sun if I get some time..

Yeah, I will miss thta show!! grr.
I ahvd been planning on it for months then My wife had a biz trip the same weekend.. ah well.
I will make it next time.

I wouldn't worry about it. There are going to be many guys there with 10-20 times that in their pockets.

lol..don't waste the effort on that show. Take a trip down to the Texas show where there are dozens of high rollers who thinking nothing of carrying around $100K.

Got back from the show this Saturday morning. Only 1 charvel sighting. It was owned by the guitarist from Heart (I think this ones been floating around). Had a Kahler trem, sharkfin inlay, neck thru. Not too bad looking. other than that, it was a LesPaul fukk fest, just hundreds of these things laying around--vintage and new. I'd say a 3:1 ratio over Fenders if not more.

Oh yeah, and 1 hot chick [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] which I couldn't really understand what she was trying to sell... Quote "It's like looking into to sun, you take just a quick glance and look away"---We'll my eyes are burnt then [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

I rarely saw old Charvels at shows until recently. Eric Ernest scored a pre-pro at the Philly show a year-year and a half ago, then this past spring I scored the Star I hooked Tracy up with, then the last Philly show there were 3, all with huge price tags. Even San Dimas Jacksons are gard to find at most shows and when they pop up, they have stupid price tags.

Jim: That lefty 85 SD soloist really screams (except for the Kahler). I had to have the frets dressed and to replace 3 of the Kahler rollers. Brought it to practice and gave it a work out--I was very happy. It does have a huge FAT neck which I typlically don't care for. This is my first guitar with the 3 toggles and I'm growing to like it. I'm not sure what pickups are in it but the next time I replace the strings, I'm going to do a little exploring.
