I still don't care. I'm good with my EMGs and DiMarzios, thanks!

Thanks PJG. I guess those slimline ones are more standard sized rather than being too tall? I need to figure everything out before ordering, and now that I know there's different height pickups available, it's another small factor that affects my decision. I do NOT want to route my Shannon. Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

I picked up my new APCs last Monday and finally got the chance to put them in today. They are pretty much everything everybody says they are. In this case the hype is right on. They are as clear and as quiet as can be and really put out.

Mel Lace was a great guy to deal with too. When I left with them on Monday he said to call him if I had any problems. On Wednesday he called me out of the blue and asked if I had put them in yet and was wondering what I thought of them. I told him I wasn't going to be able to get to it until today (Friday) so he told me to call him on Monday with a review or with any questions if I got hung up in installation.Talk about great product support.

To sum up:

APC gets three
for product quality
and three
for product support.

Oh yea, they look pretty damn cool in my SL2H too.

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

I know it has nothing to do with this thread but I thought I would throw in a gratuitous picture of my Shannon just because I have new one and it is so f----g cool!

PJG...are you running those with 500k or 1 meg pots? I wanna discuss that with Mel. I'm hoping to pick up a set of Persuaders sometime this week.

The stock pots in a new 2004 SL2H, whatever those are. (What are they?)APC recommends 500K-.5MEG pots.

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

I think the stock pots in the SL2H and SL1 are 500K. So, that should mean the Shannons should also have 500K. And I'm gonna slap my future APCs in my Shannon. However, I'm starting to shy away from the idea as I've really grown to love the DiMarzio Super 3 and Duncan Hot Rails currently in there. They have tons of midrange grind which already thickens up the sound of my guitar quite well and slices through a mix like nobody's business. Maybe if I'm feeling adventurous, I'll try the APCs sometime in the future, but they're no longer on my priority list for now.

By the way, I really love those photos you took. Nothing shows off guitar beauty better than natural light. Simply beautiful and a great angle from which you took those pics too.

Thanks. I wish I could say that was me but that is my wife shooting pictures in our living room. She is a semi-pro photographer.

I bugged her to take some quick pics after the APC installation and she did it, but she wasn't all that happy with them. She wants to ( I want her to ) take some "Glamour" shots when the time is right. I'll post them when they are done.

BTW, If you look closely at the picture of the Shannon you can see the reflection of my Black Lab waiting to go back and lay down on her pillow in front of the fireplace. She wasn't all that happy about us waking her up to take some pictures of some dumb guitars..

Just got off the phone with Mel. I'm going to be calling him back in a couple days once I figure out how many I need to order. If anyone else is interested please let me know...if we can get 10 pups ordered the discounts begin. Please shoot me an email if you're interested...I will be ordering them this week and picking them up next week (as I'm local). I have no problems shipping these out to anyone.
