Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

Oh!!! Discounts suck me back in!!! I'd be interested in ordering three pickups total: 1 Persuader Lead humbucker bridge, 1 200 single coil middle, and 1 Persuader SC single coil neck, all for my Shannon. I am told they are all four-conductor so that is GOOD to drop right in my Shannon which already has a 5-way megaswitch installed for bridge/neck coil splitting options. I've also read that the pickups are a little bit taller than normal pickups, so hopefully the non-recessed Shannon trem will accommodate these APCs no problem. How much for shipping, Joel? I'll e-mail you later, probably tomorrow afternoon after my damn midterm exams are over...

Now I REALLY gotta learn how to solder... Cold Heat Soldering Iron, here I come!

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

Discounts begin at an order of 10...and unfortunately I believe it has to be an order of the same type...like 10 hums, or 10 SC's...so *if* we can get 10 hums (probably by the end of the week) we could get a dealer discount...so if interested plz shoot me an email and I'll keep tabs of the count and keep you posted.

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

Technically, aren't all the APCs true HUMBUCKERS in that they are all silent and eliminate 60-cycle hum? And the Persuader SC is the single coil sized Persuader hum. Kidding. I know what you mean. Blahhh, that puts me down to just one pickup then. Maybe we can get a batch order for 10 singles as well. If not, I'll just order mine separately because I need both hums and singles.

          E-mail on the way soon...

hey why don't you see if you can do 5 Persuader Leads and 5 Persuader Lead Single coils as your 10? i'm sure you could unload them here.

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

Alright....so it looks like 4 hums so far and 2 SC's. If there is enough interest for 10 pups...either 10 hums or 5+5 (Hums+SC's) I'll ask Mel about it and see what kind of discounts there are. I'll be placing the order the end of the week...probably Fri. so he can start to build them...so make sure you email me [email protected] if you're interested so I can get a running total. Make sure to let me know in the email if you are interesed either way, or if you are only in if there's 10 people for the discount.

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

i can pull up Sunbane's translation of the sweedish page

                        here it is:

I did a translation of that swedish webpage for those who are interested, but I only bothered to translate the Humphree Singlecoils and the Humbuckers.

Note: Keep in mind that this is a translation of a translation (and i don't know what info is from the product sheets and what is just the swedish retailer's opinion), so I can't make any guarantees about the accuracy of the information.

                        quote:

INTER-PHASE PICKUPS give you brilliance and clarity. Some models have high or very high output signal with preserved treble, which so far has been impossible for passive pickups. (Note: Anyone else who thinks this smells like bull****? X2N anyone?) You can adjust INTER-PHASE PICKUPS very close to the strings without having the magnetic fields affect the vibrations of the strings (no "string pull"). You simply get better sustain. When doing powerful string bending, you never run the risk of ending up outside the receptive area of a magnetic pole, since the magnetic fields are spread out over the entire length of the pickup. INTER-PHASE PICKUPS are quiet and hum free and some models (Humphree) are even very quiet and very hum free. These pickups are offered with a range of different tones, from the traditional single coil sound, to the most sought-after humbucking sound of the 50's.

IMPORTANT: Some bridges have very wide string spacing. Make sure you have at least 7mm between your 1st string (E1) and the edge of your pickups for a balanced tone reception with APC Single Coil Pickups.

                        HUMPHREE - Single Coils

                        Model

100 - Virtually insensitive to electric and magnetic interference. When you demand a totally clear, balanced "true single coil tone without the noise". Recommended position: Neck/middle

200 - Has the quietness and clarity of the 100, but is calibrated to give a little stronger output with emphasis on the mid-range register. Recommended position: Neck/middle

300 - "Hot, full range HUMPHREE" gives you maximum attack and sustain, while it brings out the harmonic overtones and a high output signal. Recommended position: middle/bridge

400 - "Mr. Punchy". Extremely high output signal and low hum level makes this pickup the choice of the pro's. Perfect for both clean and distortion. Recommended position: bridge

                        DUAL COIL HUMBUCKERS

All pickups are built with 4 shielded leads for split coil, phase control and series/parallell operation. Specify white or black covers when ordering.

                        Model

Persuader SC - Humbucking in single coil format. Powerful, "punchy" and rich with overtones. Recommended position: bridge

Persuader Lead - Powerful "over the edge" signal. Designed specifically for the lead guitarist. Recommended position: bridge

Persuader Lead Custom - Full highs, strong middle and full lows. Similar to Persuader Lead, but with stronger lows. Recommended position: bridge

Felony X - "This is it, we did it!" The sought-after 50's humbucking sound is here. Thick and clear for everything from blues to metal. Recommended position: neck

Malice - Especially designed for those who want a "phatter" humbucking sound. Classically tight response with strong mids and a loud output signal. Recommended position: neck

Syrinx - Like Malice, but with a finely balanced magnetic structure, resulting in a "medium output pickup" with prominent highs, thick bass and a "soft hang". (Note: Don't ask me what they mean with "soft hang". Sounds perverted.) Recommended position: neck

                        'bane

Re: APC pickups: Do they really exist?

So far so good...here's what I've got...5-6 Persuader Leads, 2 PL-SC's, and 1 200-SC. If these are all confirmed (for the discount) and we can get 1-2 more orders I'll call Mel and ask about the discount. Also I'm assuming these are all in black as well?

                                *******UPDATE************

Alrighty guys...just got off the phone with Mel again...got the scoop for ya'lls.
Here's the deal: the good news...with 10 orders we can knock of 10% each pup. So take 10% off $90 for std. Hums, $95 for slimlines, and $80 for SC's.
The bad news...sales tax...so there's about 8% or so there...
The slimlines are about 1/4" shorter height-wise.

So if everyone is still interested definitely let me know asap so I can confirm this. I'm willing to save people the time and hassle and ship these out for anyone...I think USPO Priority is about $3-$4 or so. Also I can do PayPal via bank transfers only...my personal acct. won't do credit cards. Remember we need at least 10 to get the discount.
