Anyway I went to GC today to check out the SL1 Strangletooth (Pat) told me about and here's the good news. Well I think it's good news...
4 of the 5 customers in the store (including myself) were trying out Jacksons! Like I said I was looking at the SL1, a guy named Charles, who I told about this forum (hope he joins, nice guy), was playin an RR1 Lightning Graphic (used, older one, forgot to look at the serial#). And there were 2 kids, maybe 17 or 18 in there, one playin a SLSMG and the other playin a DKMG (i think). The kid playin the SLSMG was like "Damn, I love this guitar!". All I could think to say was "yeah, Jacksons are badasss!" so looks like maybe there marketing is working...???

Well, Charles said he's gettin a RR1, just not that one cause it was beat to hell... And the one kid I quoted above sounded like he was on his way!

I just thought it was the most positive experience I've had in a GC in a very long time...

Damn, I must have missed something on that RR1, you're talking about the green lightening, right? It had some minor chips and what not and one small ding on the front, but that was it. Hmmm, that guiatr was dated around 89 I think, so if it's been played, it was in decent shape for it's age. I could be worng tho.

Anyway, good to hear about the Jackson's being played over there.

That SL1 is sweet, no? You should have snagged it! Talk to Shaky, the short bald fukker, he's my bro, if anyone can get er doen for you, he's the guy...

Well the RR1 had the chip on the front and the wings were chipped pretty good... not bad for an 89 I guess though.. oh and the HS was chipped too..

The SL1 was nice except for a couple of deep scratches on the front and a nice little nick in the binding on the neck. And some minor pick swirls that are really hard to see since the guitar is white.
Shaky was off today... I was gonna see if they'd give me that guitar and say $200 or so for my Shannon... I really can't afford to just buy another guitar right now with starting a new job Wed.

Man, i must be losing it... I sure didn't notice all that, especially on the SL1, i played it for 30 minutes or more and it was nice.

Yeh, forgot, Shakly's off on Sun/Mon, he was actually over here tonight, brought some dude and bought all my Waves plugs.

I bought the Dragon from Dan out there, I've known him for 20 yrs. Talk to Brian out there tho, Dan's a bit hard to deal with at times for some. He does get some nice stuff tho...

I played an SLSMG yesterday and I gotta tell you, I was'nt very impressed. I think I've just been spoiled with the USA Jacksons because it just felt cheapy to me. No offense to anybody that likes/has one it's just that the USA pieces are basically leaps and bounds superior in build, I guess that is why they cost twice as much too.

Keep in mind this kid at GC yesterday was probably used to playin Ibeenhads and ESPees! Compared to those the SLSMG plays much better, IMO...

At least it's a Jackson!

Yeah, Dan can be tough to talk to sometimes, Ive spent alot of cash in there myself. But, all-in-all he was the only game in St. Louis, Mo. if you wanted the best...Jackson. Brian is a great guy I've known him forever.

i domt know if its true or not but dan told me that he is going to be the exclusive charvel dealer in st.louis and he has never lied to me before and brian is cool he hipped me to the analog man tubescreamers. if he gives you a opinion on something its for real weather they carry it or not
