I think this song sucks. The only thing that I dig is Sammy's voice. Eddie's tone is better, but I don't think his playing is all that great, especially compared to his older stuff. Also, EVH is way too loud in the mix. It almost sounds like a demo to me.

I've heard the song a few times and as a long time VH fan I'm not too impressed. From a songwriting standpoint, it's weak. If this wasn't VH, it would never get on the radio. There's no memorable hook and although the guitar sound is great, his playing could be so much better. Maybe Eddie needs to give up some control and bring in a producer? Hopefully the rest of the disc will be better.

Either way, I've got 9th row tix in 3 weeks and I can't wait to see them live!

Awful. It sounds completely uninspired - just four guys in a room with no chemistry but they had to come up with a song. Too bad. I had high hopes.

Sam does sound good, but then again, he always does. It's an odd song for a single - I hope it's not the best of the 3 new tunes (not that I'm buying a 2cd set for 3 songs). The arrangement is weird - it's got a real cut & paste feel to it. The drum tone isn't too happening either. The bass and vox sound the best, tone wise, to me.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">I'd agree with that. I know EVH is kind of in a damned-if-you-do/damned-if-you-don't area when it comes to his playing. That is, some people will crucify him if he doesn't sound like he did in 1978 and others will slag him if he does sound like the youngster from the late '70's. But I think this song just sounds flat, has little "fire" to it and doesn't make me want to see the new tour or shell out the bucks for the "new" disc.

The one good thing you have to admit about it is the tone! I haven't heard a tone that sweet out of him since before 1984! I also think it's way better than anything that would have come from them if it was with DLR. Don't get me wrong. The idea of VH back in it's original form gets me stoked, but do you really think that DLR has any gas left? At least this is on par for the most part with all of the Sammy stuff.
