Re: Delays on cutom orders. Read this!

WOW! McD....THANK yOU! I would prefer to wait for the guitar fully assembled with neck plates....Guitar Asylum is a 4 hour drive from my house and I don't want to take any extra trips there. I called them today and I guess You or someone from Jackson had reached out to them. I just want to say that Guitar Asylum are great people. (I don't drive that distance for nothing) Harry spoke to me and explained the whole situation with the plates. Thanks to all you guys.

        McD is the man!

Spider, If I were in this situation I would take the guitar now and have Guitar Asylum mail you the plate when it arrives. Then you only have to make one trip and you get your fiddle sooner.

It is possible the plates could take longer than 90 days. Murphy runs wild in manufacturing so delays are frequent in almost all manufacturing facilities.

Post pics when you get it!

wow ! McD, that was mighty cool of you. This kind of service will ensure that Jackson players will remain enthusiastic about the guitars and loyal to the brand. It would be a stretch to imagine getting this kind of service from any other guitar co.

On a related note (for McD) - could you point me to the person who I would need to contact about a Fender Showmaster I just bought and some issues I'm having with the hardware & build ?

Another year? Come on, the sky isn't falling either.

Send me the Work Order # and I'll see what I can do.

They said it could be a day, a month, or another year! Any thoughts guys or anybody with inside info? Thanks!

I just am not comfortable with the idea of having to bring a guitar back in to get a neck plate put on. I want it done right from the factory. I dread thinking the BS non-sense I will have to go through to make appointments and such. I already have 15 other guitars I can play while I wait. Do you guys know what I mean? I am in deep gratitude to McD for being an ally with my dilema. I just don't like a lot of these retail store luthier hacks.....they are very incompetent as I recently learned with a JAckson RR at East Coast Music Mall. BArry Lipman is God...but the guy Joe there sucks.

Swapping the neck plate will take you about 2 minutes, tops.

PS - rest assured, the guys at Guitar Asylum are hardly "hacks." I know, cuz I've shopped there (ans still do) and I've known the owners for years.

                            Just to add another praise:

Some weeks ago I mailed Brian McDonald because the case I ordered for my DKMGT at the end of last year (!) still had not arrived.

He took care of that as well and also put me forward to the German product manager of Fender who was helpful as well.

BTW, the case has arrived in the meantime!

So a big thanks again @ McD!!!
