Delays on cutom orders. Read this!

I just got off the phone with Guitar Asylum. I had ordered a custom Charvel in December of 2002. Well it appears it is finally done....BUT get this: I specifically wanted a Charvel 3D neck plate and now that the guitar is literally done I have to wait for them to make a Charvel neck plate. They said it could be a day, a month, or another year! Any thoughts guys or anybody with inside info? Thanks!

Can they send you the guitar with a standard plate then send you the 3D plate when it is made?

That info. sounds squirelly. They finished the guitar except for the plate? So what's on there now?

If it's correct, why don't you see if they'll send the guitar out now and send a replacement plate when the 3Ds become available? (Even if they'd do this, I imagine they'll want to old one back to prevent a potential forgery.) ...Doesn't hurt to ask.

Unless there's some problem with ordering and/or producing the 3D plates, I've got to imagine that it won't be long before they become available. They were rumored way back at Winter NAMM, so I would guess (...and it's only that! No inside info. here.) we'll probably see the new plates at Summer NAMM or shortly thereafter.

I've got it all sorted out - your guitar is done and will be sent out immediately. The neck plates are about 90 days out, so we'll send yours to Guitar Asylum as soon as we get it!
