Suggestion for the gallery

Hi all (and especially the admins)

As i haven't visited the gallery some time now i just noticed that there was a quite a update. Now the only problem i have with 687 guitars i really don't know which are the new ones and which were already added in older updates.
So i think is it possible to make a little comment on every guitar when it was added to the gallery? With this it would be easy to spot the new guitars and not wondering if it's a new or old one.

Just a suggestion.

Now i really feel dumb [img]images/icons/grin.gif[/img] As i probably am.
But please tell me exaclty why [img]graemlins/images/icons/tongue.gif[/img] I asked if it's possible to add a comment to every guitar when it was added to the gallery. I still can see only the production year, the serial number and the owner, besides some generice infos.
In case you are wondering i didn't mean when a category of guitars (rhoads, kelly etc.) is updated. For example with 48 rhoads i don't know which guitars were added on may 21 and which are older.

well, i think that going forward, it's possible that a "added to gallery on" date could be added. but i'll leave it up to ralph, he may go for it, he may kick me in the nuts... you can never tell with these yankee fans.

Sully as i said it was just a suggestion. Would make it easier to spot the new additions.

i'm with ya pal, it's certainly not one of the crazier ideas i've heard. the only drawback to that is if we do that going forward, you'll eventually have more and more guitars added that have dates, and you'll have to look closely to find them.

Or just add a 'new' icon next to each picture that is from the latest update and remove the icon when the next batch is uploaded.

Sorry, my initial reply was semi-sarcastic since I don't think most people understand how much effort it takes to add even 1 guitar to the gallery, let alone 225 like the last update covered.

Going forward it is possible to tag new guitars. Maybe a monthly update is in order, so that they are done in batches. We will discuss how to deal with this among the admins.

I'll back up Ralph on this.

It really does take a lot to add a guitar to the gallery, unfortunately, there isn't a generator in place to do these things automatically. When I was doing this, I would get frustrated because my JCFOnline e-mail account would time out on every entry.
