New Custom Select Order

Hey all. I am sitting here getting ready to put in a spec sheet for a Custom Select Soloist. Wanted to post the spec sheet and get any thoughts or feedback that you guys may want to contribute. Note the neck carve: .750" - .810". Going to see if I can get away with a DInky neck carve on a Soloist...

you won't... there's an internal spec sheet jackson uses for select orders with all the changeable options enumerated. neck profile is not one of them. anything digressing from the enumerated options will be denied. sucks...

The Jackson rep thinks he can get it for me. Did you see the post I did in July? I had that brand new CS Dinky that was delivered with a twisted neck. Had to send it back to Corona and they are working on it now. He thinks he can get the neck as a concession because I did not ask for anything in concession for the neck re-do.

To your knowledge are they doing speed necks?

Yeah you could look at it as a neck through Dinky or a Soloist with a Dinky neck. I can only imagine how awesome it would be to have the Dinky neck with the upper fret access of a Soloist. Hopefully I will get a chance to find out!

I think the Warrior is a speed neck. Not sure on the KV. I know that they have done Soloists with speed necks in the past.

Looks great. Love that color as well!! Neck is too thin for me, but that`s cool if they do it for you. I hope they do. Some really cool specs!

I have been trying to make sense of the time quotes coming out of the CS for some time.

When I ordered the Dinky that is being built now I was quoted 12-14 months. A couple days later a JCF FM was quoted 4 months.

I think it may have to do with the finish. I have heard they run production schedules on colors/finishes and body styles in batches and then fit one- off guitar orders in where it fits best. Something along the lines of they plan a large run of Snow White guitars in December. If you order a Snow White, it gets scheduled for that batch. Or you order a Soloist and the next run of Soloists is in November.

Don’t know if that is true or not though.

I have sold (used) all kinds of gear. I have talked to a couple people who have sold all kinds of gear.
We've come to the conclusion that - 100% unemployment, plus $600 a week. AND your rent and student loans are on hold... it buys a lot of gear.

I just looked at the custom shop order sheets. The Warrior, and King V have the Jackson Speed Neck (.775" @3rd and .835" @12thth) as the standard neck dimension.

The Kelly is .775" @3rd and .850" @12th. So not a speed neck

interesting... I'm looking at old spec sheets (specifically one from 2008) and it list the ke-2 neck as "3rd Fret: .775", 12th Fret: .835"". so that makes me wonder if the 2020 order sheet has a typo, because I was not aware of a fourth neck shape (for six string guitars other than artist sigs, that is).
