  • Jackson KBX bass - Into coffin case

Hello everyone! I'll be soon in need to get a hardcase for my 2002 Jackson Kelly KBX bass guitar, due to some interesting studio modernization, so I have to be prepared to move fragile things from one place to another quickly.
Thus, I'm looking for a hard case where to put my KBX bass.
I've never seen an official KBX case available to buy anywhere, but I'm pretty sure and confident I'll make up a solution that works, probably using another brand's hard case and adapting its internal sponge panels to my needs.
What I've come accross for a very good price (I think) is a Coffin Case in good conditions for less than 75 US dollars shipped, the seller sent me proofs he had stored inside it a Dean ML flame, so I guess it's all about measurements.

    The KBX bass is 125 x 42 x 10 centimeters (49,2 x 16,5 x 3,9 inches).
    The Dean ML is said to be 127 x 45,72 x 15,24 centimeters (50 x 18 x 6 inches).

    Should I go for it?
I don't think I'll ever sell my KBX Eerie Dess Swirl bass, but who knows? Having a hard case that fits would surely be added value.

    Thanks everybody!

Sweetwater sells new hardcases called the Gator Extreme case that is very large. Held my Charvel Star very well. Made for large odd shaped guitars.

Gator Cases produces a vast array of protective solutions and accessories, catering to everyone from budding musicians to seasoned studio and stage professionals.

Yes thank you, but I was looking for something used and cheaper!

By the way, here's the picture of that Dean ML Flames inside the coffin case.
