• Jackson headstock decal discrimination!!!

Hey guys! Umm, OK, so I might have exaggerated the topic a bit , but have you guys have noticed the way the Jackson decal is different on the left handed Jacksons? I mean, compared to the right handed decals, the left handed decal is smaller and looks weird. Maybe its just me, and my analysis of the mere pics I have seen, but it sure looks this way. Could anyone confirm this for me, and possibly tell me there a difference in size and overall appearance? Its not big deal, but I just wanted to ask you guys. Thanks in advance!

It has a lot to do with fitting of the logo on a headstock that is inversed from the original design.

Thanks Tekky, for the quick reply bro. I can't believe us lefties don't even get original logos! Instead ours are inversed and then fitted. Its real degrading and offends me. Don't know what other southpaws think about this, but I feel that we should get a proper decal! Thanks again Tekky!

Put a righty neck with a reversed headstock on it

Woah! We could do that? I didn't know that. Anyway, it doesn't bother me that much to get a new neck. However, now that you have brought it up, any idea if there are THINNER righty necks that I could replace with the one on the DK2L? Thanks in advance!

Jackson JTX is the thinnest bolt-on neck Jackson ever made as far as I know. It's at least as thin as a slice of bread
No reverse head, though, but you'd have a lefty with a reverse headstock
Just keep yer lefty locknut.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Then the logo will be reversed. And also sharkfins, if they aren't reversed in first place.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">True Newc, but are you sure that neck is able to fit on the DK2L body, I don't care if its reversed or not. Also, would you happen to know the specs of the JTX neck and where do I have the best chance of finding one? Thanks man!

Re: Jackson headstock decal discrimination!!!

Actually, the logo would be upsidedown and backwards.

Lefties have a 7/8ths size logo for a reason. Notice how much bigger the "J" in Jackson is, as compared to the other letters? Now try fitting that on the small point end of a lefty. It's too big, right? Gonna look goofy and get partially cut off - either right off the face of the headstock or through a tuner hole. That's why lefty logos are smaller. ...I like 'em, BTW. But maybe that's because I've always been partial to small (Charvel) logos.

Ever see the "normal" sized Jackson logo on a strathead or pseudo-strathead neck? Yikes! It's like most of the calendars sold in Florida. Oversized script for old, weak eyes.

LOL, I got this crazy idea ...

Jackson should do rev righty necks on lefty guitars with vertically flipped logo (so it will be seen like noskcaJ) and there should be a mirror fitted on headstock to read it right.

Then the logo would be fullsize.

Thanks for the info man. Actually, I wouldn't mind the upside down, reversed and blah blah logo, if I could have a faster neck than the DK2L. Any idea, what are specs on the JTX neck that Newc talked about? Also, what is my best bet of getting one? Thanks again!

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Fuck that decal if you're buying new guitar. I wouldn't prefer having old neck on new guitar. Especially not on DK2, which I've found very nice.

No man, I don't intend to do that, at least not right away. Its just that I have played a DKMG, and it seems that the DK2 has the same as that, which I found to be comfortable, but I also felt that it COULD be thinner. So, I'm just posting here to get the knowledge just in case I decide to do this. If you could contribute, please do so. Thank you!

HEY! I got a JTX!! *yay*

I dont think you want a JTX neck. Sure, its the thinnest neck in the world, but I'm sad to admit that because of its thinness,

It severely lacks sustain. Its sweet, but only gets about 4 seconds of natural sustain.

It also lacks in the natural tone department.
