Necks worth a hundred or more, I'm not familiar with the model but it look good for 200. I don't really think you can go wrong.Last edited by john.w.lawson; 10-24-2021, 01:44 PM.I know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

DX7 is likely the right guess. That's a Made in India serial number. Here's another one as an example: https://www.fanaticguitars.com/en/pr...72990-b-stock/

IMO of having one of each. I don't think of things like oh, you must've got a good or bad one. I'm +1 with you on that MHI know the old saying that the value of an opinion is generally inversely proportional to the strength with which it is held.

Let me take that good one bad one back, I did own a USA KV2 with 23 frets and it was serialized! So, some stuff gets past QC when they are smokin' thee bowl

Hello and sorry if this is the wrong spot to post. I’m trying to find some information on a guitar that came up for sale. I couldn’t find anything on the Jackson website such as a vault for example of old models. does the guitar in this url seem legit? Thanks in advance for any information either way.

Thanks for the quick reply. I don’t have much experience with Jackson (yet, hopefully) but I thought there would have been a metal plate covering the 3 bolts on the back of the neck.
Just that and typing the serial number in didn’t give me any info. More or less just somewhat nervous I guess about buying a guitar online through a private sale that I can’t view in person first. I’m gonna pull the trigger though. It seems to be exactly what I’ve been searching for.

Only 4-bolt, square-shaped joints received neckplates.
Even then, a few 4-bolt joints didn't have neckplates. For example, the earliest KE3 guitars (1996 until a date I have been unable to determine) did not have neckplates, but gained neckplates again at some point; my 2009 KE3 has one. The current 4-bolt joint on some of the Charvel DK24s are rounded and don't have neckplates either.
Everything looks fine for your 2017 Mexican DK2.
Fortunately, the Fender-style serial numbers on these recent Jacksons and Charvels makes it easy to determine the manufacturing date and country of origin. MX = Mexico, J = Jackson, 17 = 2017.Last edited by Number Of The Priest; 01-16-2022, 01:32 PM.
