Okay… let’s try this for images of this guitar

sorry for the delay getting photos up… there wasn’t internet until I was almost 40… I just don’t have the tech skills to do much without a lot of instruction or research

Are you just trying to find the Arm for the tremolo or the whole unit?

As a sidenote interesting to see they used those JT-6 posts on US guitars aswell and not just Japan guitars.Well that is if its a real Us made Strat. I dont see much weird in it except the body looks a bit weird but that could be the angle. The serial would match the period but i will let the people with more knowledge to chime in on that.

It should take an Original FLoyd Rose arm or schaller or 1000 series or there are probably others too.

I am going with the shadows on the front. The back of it looks much more normal.

Without me pulling out a 590 to look for myself...

Do we need to buy a bar or can we replace the entire barrel, which makes things much easier.

I've seen some other usas from 80s and 90s which had a 590 but used JT-6 posts. I think the shop really just used whatever was handy.

Sooo… update in case y’all were interested… initially I attempted to tune the ol’ girl… knowing absolutely nothing about the Floyd Rose bridge or the locking mechanism at the head… and promptly snapped an A string… 30 miles to some new Dean Markley’s… plus a YouTube video and I was back in business… I mentioned earlier to talk like explaining things to a toddler or a golden retriever… after breaking that string I’m leaning more towards the retriever end of the spectrum lol… now I’m headed to a little town about 60 miles away (other direction of course… nothing good comes easy I suppose) to pick up a tremolo bar… new strings and later this afternoon a complete tremolo… my quest is complete… haven’t touched a guitar since my 20’s… 30+ years ago… so I guess it’s gonna be practice Practice PRACTICE! Wish me good fortune! Thanks again for everyone’s help!

Don't be intimidated by a Floyd Rose type Tremolo.

A few string changes and Tremolo spring adjustments, and you will have it down pretty good.

It SEEMS complicated at first but it is really easier to
work with than most people think.

Stick around and let us know how things are progressing with you!!

Just the bar. Only reason that the Floyd Rose link I posted was the bar/ barrel assembly was it seems when buying direct from Floyd Rose they don't currently sell the bar without the barrel.
Though I use the bar that goes to a JT-590 in a Floyd Rose all the time I went ahead and just took a 1000 series bar and put in my Schaller( JT-590 style) tremolo. Worked just fine.

If you haven't already bought it. You shouldn't need a new tremolo. Unless the knife edges are worn causing it not to return to pitch (will stay a little sharp or flat when looking on a tuner after using the bar, I use a Snark that clips on the headstock) Which you can't test until you get your strings on and the bridge all set up properly. The only other reason is if the threads were stripped for one or more of the screws that hold the saddles in place. Sometimes happens on the original 590s due to the cast base. The current Schaller's have steel inserts that solve the issue, though I personally haven't had it happen. Anyway the JT-590 a fine Tremolo. IMO 2nd only to an Original Floyd or maybe a 1000 series Floyd.
