Ahh the joys of livin in Texas. 110 degree nights, sweat and more sweat and well... Tornado Alley. As many of ya know, we got hit Tuesday night by what everyone but our insurance company and the weather service is calling a tornado. It messed us up pretty well but all in all we were very lucky considering the damage our neighborhood had.
The power finally came back on Friday, or was it Thursday night. I can't remember what today is, I think it's saturday? We've been crashing at some relavtives houses and kinda lost track of the daze. Anyway, I found the cable laying out in a field across from the house and with a little help from Home Depot and some duct tape...the internet is back on. The cable company couldn't tell me when it would be back on so I hadda take matters into my own hands.
After running some new cable, scurrying up the pole to hook it back up and then just floppin it in the street, it was back to abnormal. Except for the missing portions of our yard, house, shed, trees, etc. Next door and down the street got the most damage, roof tops gone, 200+ yr old trees downed and laying across the roads, fences lord only knows where. My neighbor now have a trampoline...it's from about a 1/4 mile away. I found some of my baseball cards a little over 1/2 mile away. I had somewhere near 800,000 of them but now it's down to next to nothing. But no one got hurt. We weren't even home. It was my wife's birthday so we were out gettin drunk and the tornado took off the sign of the bar we were in!!! But hey, we got free drinks. All in all, we were very lucky and now with out further ado...I get to take that message off my phone. Back to business but I still gotta rebuild that shed. Hope the insurance comes thru for us.
Thanks to all of you who have called. Now I've gotta get to emails since we haven't been able to get to them since Tuesday. Geez, there's gonna be a few of them to go thru.
Again, thanks for all your support, it really has helped.
