  • Jackson Pure Metal SL1A Limited Edition

    Any thoughts on this?

    There are also
    RR 1A and Kelly KE1A.

I'm liking the Soloist. Getting close to doing the
    Pre Order.

Not really for the stripped down single hum thing, but I get why some like it. They totally abandoned the old naming scheme for models it seems.

A little overpriced for a 1 hum, 1 control guitar, IMO.

I'd have to test drive that fishman and see what the voice switching can really do, but if it's gonna have 1 pickup I'd prefer a passive pickup so it could have a parallel switch instead, and a tone control.

Cosmetically I really like what they did, though.

For a metal guitar, these should have satin or oiled neck instead of gloss, and some better pickups, like Blackouts Metal. The Rhoads and the Kelly should be beveled, not sure what the excuse now is for not beveling them...is it the pointless body binding. Other than that, they are like the Pro Plus with finally some cool shapes. Kinda odd that they are made by Cort and not WMI, so far the limited editions were almost all Korean.

I always thought 1 hum guitars were a ripoff.Ofcourse if thats all you need then fine.
How are the tariffs going to affect those prices for US? Will they just slap the 32% on top of that? I never liked the FLuence Modern sound.

My guess, since those guitars are most likely already in the US, the prices will stay as indicated. Since it's a limited edition, once they're sold out, that's it.

I wonder about future shipments though. Those will be affected by tariffs unless by then they're dropped. Perhaps, the manufacturers will absorb some of that since the economy isn't getting any better, so there's no reason to expect that guitar sales will explode. If this lasts a while, WMI could see a lot more business. And Fender's own Mexico plant may have to learn to make neck-throughs.
