What is your most & least favorite USA finish?

Just curious what the preferences are around here, and how that compares to what we commonly see in stores. I'll start:

Hard to pick a top favorite. This all depends on the particular guitar, IMHO. Generall speaking, though, at the end of the day I'm a sucker for a killer trans flame/quilt top. So I'd probably go with amber sunburst. Raspberry 'burst is a very close second. Chlorine is right up there too but, IMHO, only looks good with a maple fretboard.

Least favorite? Trans black. To my eye, most of them look like washed out grey with a blackburst edge. It's never appealed to me. A close second would be blue bengal. I love tigerstripes, but blue stripes? It just looks so wrong, IMHO. Actually, the current stripe pattern itself doesn't appeal to me so much. I'd much prefer it if they went back to the vintage San Dimas-era stripe pattern.

Graphic, I would say Nebula.

Dislike... I should say Blue Bengal looks strange to me.

Like: Gloss solid black
Dislike: Anything other than gloss solid black

My only USA Jackson is gloss solid black. What's good for me is that black is a classic color that will NEVER be phased out from ANY manufacturer. I ALWAYS have the option of black and I love it!! [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]

If it is an acoustic...
Like: Natural finishes
Dislike: Anything other than natural

i dislike black
everything else is so-so
surprisingly there are very few ivory/white jacksons around...but very many black!!! i am in the minority for sure!!

Favorites at the moment: Black Cherry and Eerie Dess Swirl.

Least favorite: Shattered Glass. It just looks too cheesey, cartoonish and nothing like real glass.

This version looks much cooler.

Preferred solid..: black & white
Preferred graphics: black & white

Dislike solid: deep blue

I still like the Yellow Bengal but I've grown tired of most of the others!!
I never liked that weird Interference Splatter from a couple years ago,looked like a pre-school kid did it with a crayon!!

Depends on the guitar but in general my favorites among the current finishes are silver swirl & snakeskin. Least favorite: shattered glass - I love the GMW version and the one posted above but Jackson's take is just awful.

I like a lot of what's been done in the past but particularly: granite w/routed cracks, pop art, and the diagonal black/white Soloists w/matching headstocks.

I've never really been fond of graphics. I don't really care for the bengels, snakeskins, shattered glass, etc.

I prefer solid colors or transparents on a good figured top. A graphic would have to be very tasteful and subtle for me to like it.

colors - WHITE, Black, Green
graphics - Lightning Sky, ghost flames (any color), Budmans pencil art.


dislike:
colors - Pink, yellow, reds that are TOO red
graphics - shattered glass, hot rod flames, blue and tan flames
