• What should be my 1st Jackson???

Hello, my fellow Jacksons and Charvettes, what guitar should be my 1st Jackson??? I'm really thinking about having my father buy me the EDS DK-2 dinky, but then again I see all these Jacksons and Charvels on eBay that are neck-thru and all, and cost just about the same as a EDS DK-2 dinky would, and from what I hear it's better to buy a neck-thru guitar than a bolt-on... Man, the anticipation of a Jackson has been building up in me for so long, I just want to play one so bad from listening to sound clips from you guys!!! What does it feel like to feel the grace of a Jackson/Charvel??? Anyways, which would be better for me to buy, one of those "Professional" neck-thru Jacksons on eBay or a Eerie Dess Swirl DK-2!?!?!?

Examples of "import" neck-thru guitars:

#5 and #7 would be my picks, I would only buy a rhodes if it was a usa model. # 5 looks to be a 650xl and # 7 looks to be a Model six. They are basically the same guitar with different pick up switches. I have a model 6 that I absolutely love and I have a Usa SL2H and a San domas Plated Jackson Strat with a maple neck. Shit I love them all, but if you are on a budget # 5 is a good deal! My buddy has got a fushia one and he put an original Floyd on it and it's killer. depending on what he want s for #7 that looks good as well.
If this is our perdition, will you walk with me?

I know it's an import (and not a great one from what I hear)..but I LOVE my RX10D.... I am saving up for a RR1 but all things come in due time.

I would buy a Rhoads "Professional" (Neck-Thru), but I hear the Randy Rhoads model's are a pain when you want to play sitting down. . Oh yeah, I'm not going to buy any of those guitars right now, I'm going to have to wait until my father gets a little more money. Anyways, do you guys think it would be a better buy for me to buy an import "neck-thru" model or the Eerie Dess Swirl DK-2 dinky??? Also, how are the RR model's sitting down and standing up!?!?!? <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Nope, not necessarily a pain.... just different. You just prop it on your right thigh. It is actually pretty comfortable once you get used to it.

#2 - The 5As are great guitars but he's too high on the price.

#7 - Not a Model 6 (those have the guitar-shaped logo, not the toothpaste logo - this might be a 650XL?) and I doubt that's a factory finish so I'd ask some questions about its quality before the purchase.

#5 - Pretty cool depending on where the price finishes.

First, get a job and leave Dad alone! Sorry for the outburst, but I have kids always spending my money. Ok, I don't know how old you are, but lets assume you are underage. I think Drag racer nailed it with a Model 2. It should not break the bank with Dad so you don't have to wait so long to get one. Great neck and you can learn the joys of changing strings with a floyd type. Don't be fooled by not having all the frills with a 2 as you would with a 6. I started with a model 6 that my dad bought me (oh shit, his dad is going to be pissed) but a md. 2 has as much "Charvel Vibe" as a high end one. Maybe not as much, but its there.

1's and 2's rule, plus they're cheap. At one point they were the best guitar in the world for the money, 2 years ago you could grab them for $70-$150 on the bay, now they go for $150-$250, still great fucking deals.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">....and the maple boarded model 1's have been fetching more than $250 again lately - I saw one a couple of weeks ago almost hit $350....

I'll agree, though, it would be pretty hard to separate me from my model 1 or model 7. You really can't beat a trusty old model series Charvel !

Ya, those are for the minty ones though. I like my guitars with a little wear and tear though. The 4's that came with the sharkies are cool too. 7's rock to.

I was thinking about selling some things I don't need anymore to raise the money for a new guitar, besides, I don't want to spend my father's money this time, I want to be able to say that I bought my 1st "Jackson" !!! Anyways, I still trying to decide whether I should buy an import "neck-thru" Jackson or the Eerie Dess Swirl DK-2 dinky, can you guys please help even though it's my decision in the end!?!?!?

Go for the Neck thru! Once you play one, you'll be hooked. The DK2's are nice but for the same or less money you can get a neck thru, and if it has a couple scuffs and scratches you won't freak when you get another. Plus for about the same money as a model 1 or 2 you can get a model 6. Maybe a little more, but it's worth it. Don't pass up the chance to get a neck thru! They rock! To me, nothing feels more like a professional guitar than a neck thru. JMO...
