Charvel King V?

I have a black Charvel King V with Floyd Rose. The serial number starts with a C which I was informed meant it was one of a few Japanese custom shop charvels that were made.
I belive this is a pretty rare axe. Anybody got any more info?

a C serial usually denotes a Japanese Charvel neckthru. It's a popular misconception on ebay that it stands for "Custom Shop"

Although, I've never seen a production Charvel KV

I'm guessing these were the overseas market models...along with the RR with the Charvel headstock as well??

Yes, that is a guitar made in Japen for the Japanese market, there a whole bunch of slightly different guitars not normally seen except for in Japan. That one is from the Exlaim Series, it's a CKV-068. There is also a Rhoads and a Kelly shape in the series, all with 24 frets/bolt-on config. They even sold soft gig bags for each shape for this series.

The CDS series has the same logo on an Ibanez looking headstock and the CST series has a strathead on it.

I've also got the overseas 92 catalog which shows the ST and CX series guitars with proper stratheads instead of the eagel beaks. This matches up nicely with my CX291 strathead. [img]images/icons/smile.gif[/img]
